Introduction:
The heart is a muscular organ, which pumps blood through the blood vessels in the body. In vertebrates, it is divided into four chambers: two atria (left and right) and two ventricles (left and right). It is a very important organ, which is enclosed in a sac called the pericardium. The pericardium is made up of three layers: an inner double layer of serous membrane and an outer fibrous layer.
