Chapter 10, Problem 3MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Sickle cell anemia (SCA) is an inherited disorder, which is carried to the next generation as an autosomal recessive trait. It is a condition that affects the production of normal hemoglobin. Instead of normal hemoglobin, an abnormal form of hemoglobin is found in case of a person suffering from SCA. Hemoglobin is involved in transporting the oxygen from lungs to different parts of the body and due to this condition, the normal process is hampered.
