Introduction:
A dominant allele is the one that expresses itself even when present in the heterozygous or the homozygous state. However, a recessive allele is expressed in the homozygous state only. A test cross is a cross between the individual of an unknown genotype and an individual with a recessive homozygous genotype. Test cross can help us to identify the genotype of the unknown individual.
