Chapter 10, Problem 3AWK
Summary Introduction

To review:

A lifetime of smoking leads to the destruction of the cilia of the cells that line the bronchi and bronchioles. It is required to review that how this destruction of cilia increases the chance of lung infection.

Introduction:

Cilia are tiny hair, which protects the passage in the nose and other parts of the respiratory tract. They filter dust and other particles that enter the nose with the air, which is breathed. The function of cilia is to move back and forth and protect us from the unwanted things we breathe with the oxygen we take in. The trachea, from the end, is divided into tubes on left and right called bronchi and the further division of bronchi into smaller tubes is called bronchioles.
