Stephen Jones is the CEO of WISKY Contractors that has been in existence for the past 15 years. WISKY Contractors has acquired itself a good position in society through the leadership of Stephen Jones who realizes that his standing thrives on retaining a caliber of team members. The company has been awarded a new contract besides the two contracts that are currently running concurrently. To meet this demand, Stephen Jones    needs to hire team leader that should be able to navigate a crowded construction site, read and write in order to keep up with the paper work, should have a high school diploma in construction and should have a minimum of 3 years practical work experience on a project, with supervisory roles as an added advantage. The team leader will be required to be on sight. Stephen Jones has thrived on the good name he has built for his organization on the basis of his commitment to undertaking and completing high quality projects within or under the project stipulated time frame. His reputation has given him a good standing in society due to his integrity and trust worth in by building non defective structures. Stephen Jones reputation has resulted in him wining numerous contractors both from the public and private sector.

On 27 October 2019, Stephen Jones was awarded a contract to construct a 1X3 two storey hostel block for a newly established University on the Coperbelt Province. Upon receiving the contract, Stephen Jones realizes that he will need to recruit two key personnel that would enable him undertake the project as he has other projects underway whose quality he doesn’t want to compromise. Stephen Jones therefore needs to place a job advert to attract the people he is looking for skills as follows; strength and stamina, building and mechanical knowledge, coordination, mathematical and language literacy, written and oral communication, comfortable and adept with technology, critical reasoning skills, willingness to learn, organization and working well with others.

It is quite detailed and serves as the basis for recruitment of staff for the job. For Stephen Jones, the job analysis for the latest project that has been awarded to his firm could be as follows:

Job analysis of the position of project/team lead

1. Managing the day-to-day activities at the site

2. Coordinating the activities at the site to avoid idle time

3. Monitoring the time-keeping at the site to achieve efficiency and control absenteeism 

4. Material receipt and distribution for the site; safe custody of stock at site to prevent pilferage; material issue under authorization to avoid wastage

5. Assisting the structural and design engineering personnel in overseeing that the activities proceed according to the approved plan and milestones are achieved per the project timeline; inform supervisors of any delay or challenge in adhering to the timeline
