Natural selection predicts that two species that came from a common ancestor should have high degree of correlation in their genomes. what aspect (use) of correlation am I using when apply it for this purpose?
Natural selection is the process through which populations of living organisms adapt and change. Individuals in a population are naturally variable, meaning that they are all different in some ways. This variation means that some individuals have traits better suited to the environment than others. More individuals are produced each generation that can survive. Phenotypic variation exists among individuals and the variation is heritable. Those individuals with heritable traits better suited to the environment will survive.
