Leaders are those people who does not require any formal or certified or conventional or official position/designation, but people can become leaders on the basis of personality characteristics or features. Leaders have followers (who always follow the footsteps of their leader) and leaders always guide and motivate their followers to achieve their goals. They generally help in defining their path so that it will be easier for the followers to achieve something.
Different leaders have different leadership style, meaning, each leaders has their own personality characteristics and may inspire their followers in different ways. Some may have the autocratic approach (who generally make decisions on their own and do not involve their team members in decision making) or some may have the democratic approach (who always considers their team members/followers opinions, or some may have the affiliative approach (who focuses on the emotional need of the people)
Emotional intelligence can be defined as the quality or trait in which the individual can understand and handle their own emotions as well as able to understand the other's emotion as well.
An individual should have emotional intelligence to become a leader.
