Things you have to be extra carefull while following  your daily routine:

1. Try to loose weight if your overweight.

2. Maintan your blood sugar level, cholesterol level and blood pressure in targated range.

3. Eat healthy food like raw vegetables and fruits, diatary otems with low fats, protein,meat etc

Avoid food with fatty or more oil, with more salt,sweet items like cake, candies, bevarages with added sugar syrup and alcohol. Try to limit starchy food or carbohydarate in count. If you are taking insulin then maintain your daily routine, drink more water, keeping youself physically active is very important.
