WRD 103: With a very busy theatre class schedule I was limited to which teachers I could choose from, and was left to about two. I put both teachers names in Rate my Professor, the magical site that lets you know about the experiences other students had with almost any teacher at your desired university. Michael Moore had significantly higher ratings, and he had comments that said how he was an amazing teacher and really wants students to learn. After reading this I told my fellow students that I found a good teacher in a time slot that worked and we put the class into our course cart. I never realized that this small choice of deciding who was going to be my professor for English would influence my life so heavily. This class has given me so many new experiences and has offered me so much. From finding a new outlook for a news source, to how I should write, to even learning more about myself through simple conversation. I can’t …show more content…
Words are powerful. To be able to put my emotions, my thoughts, onto a sheet of paper made me feel powerful. Michael had us write a variety of things, but he showed me to really put myself into every piece of writing I do. I was taught constantly in high school to distance yourself from what you write. We were to inform the reader of what we are trying to teach, and not use words like “I” or “We” because the information you are giving is more important, the writer isn’t. When I started writing with Michael he showed that it is the connection between the writer and the reader that is important. I can write and use words like “I” because as the writer my opinion is important. I can write and use words like “We” because you and I are human so we can share or relate to the same experiences. I now love writing, and it’s so easy for me to write now because I want to share myself with my reader, no matter the
This year in our English 1010 class, we covered many different genres and types of writing. We covered how to write personal narratives, how to respond to other students and other forms of writing, and how to professionally write essays. Briefly, we touched down on how to write argumentatively and were also required to create an infographic, wish was probably my favorite assignment. Although I never thought of myself as a strong writer, I believe that this class has greatly improved not only my writing skills, but my thinking skills as well. This was my first English class to be taken through dual enrollment and I believe that it went quite successfully while challenging me as a writer.
Soft moonlight lit the land and sea kindly, almost as if it were giving gentle kisses. It kissed the sea and the waves it formed, it kissed the drowsy ship which laid on said water, it kissed the sand the waves lapped at, it kissed the grassy cliff above the shore, and it kissed the girl who slept on said cliff.
I learned many new things from English 1102 class. It was not much fun but I learned some interesting things. For my research, I needed a topic that interests me. I first started to search topics from the chemistry field. I could not find any interesting topics then I came across an article that talks about how robots will take our jobs and every one would be jobless. After reading that article, I was really convinced that robots were bad for human society and people should be focusing on improving other fields such as medicine than wasting time and money in inventing a robot, which is one type of luxury and that, will take our jobs. So I chose this topic for my research. For further discussions, I started searching for some more article about robots not good for human society and I found that there was not much about the negative impact of robots in human society other than taking human jobs. So I was stuck but then I found an article that supports the robots. It was a good article and it explains how robots are useful in human society. The Article says that robots will create new jobs and benefit employers, government and disable people. I also found in one article saying that if robots will do our jobs humans can focus on bigger problems like finding cures for diseases, finding solution to prevent natural disasters and many more. Therefore, I decided to support the robot’s positive impact rather than supporting

Human trafficking, the illegal practice of trading in human beings for the purpose of prostitution, forced labor, or other forms of exploitation, is a crime that affects the most vulnerable citizens of society. After drugs, it the largest criminal activity globally! The victims must be the primary concern for all law enforcement units. Human trafficking in the world can be diminished and possibly erased through teachings, government intervention, and awareness.
I chose my memoir for AP English Language and Composition as my best piece because it’s received a ninety percent and is the written work I’m most proud of. The reader should expect to find information about me that one wouldn’t know by simply looking at me. One will find how overcoming my own challenges and one that was thrown at me made the person I am today. One would discover my passion and determination to pursue a career in family law. The impressions I hope the reader gains about myself after viewing this piece is that I am a methodical writer as well as a psychological person who tends to hide it.
A person’s happiness is completely different than that of the person next to them. In Fahrenheit 451, the society is given the idea that happiness is found in the fast life. Students crash cars, crack windows, and drive recklessly for fun. Schooling in this society is not even in the realm of learning. Instead, it is filled with sports, electronics, and everything but an education. Death is a quick cremation instead of a proper funeral and mourning. Adults not only have poor relationships with their spouses, but also their children. Despite all these things, to the people of the Fahrenheit 451 society, the weak human connections and speedy existence

It is the general agreement of tax payers everywhere that the current tax system is way too complicated. You either need to have a certified public accountant help you do them or a specialized tax program to walk you through it. Not only that, but the costs associated with having someone prepare your taxes or buying the specialized computer program needed to navigate the myriad of entangled tax codes and laws can become quite expensive. But it is not only expensive for us, the individual tax payer, but it is also expensive for businesses and it is extremely expensive for the Federal government. Not
10) How did the increase in literary styles increase our understanding of this period? How did the political climate influence the quantity and content of literary works? Why do you think there were so many new forms of literature introduced during the first and second centuries?
After working at the bookstore, Harper Lee left to work as a reservation clerk at an airline. She pursued this career, so she could work during the day and continue writing during the nighttime. Her friends gave Lee a boost from having to write during the nighttime and gave her some money, so she could just pursue writing full time. Despite her mother passing away and her brother also passing away, she worked on her novel for many years (Anderson).
