Screen time can also lead to higher levels of overweight and it can leads to shorter attention spans, mental problems, or even sadness. Screen time is a distraction to school work and that can be bad for their grades because at school they will be thinking about games and not be paying attention to the teacher or they skip doing their homework which can help understand things they don’t pick up from class. Also it can introduce cyber bullying to kids which is bad and may make them depressed. Most children today have access to devices such as television, smartphones, computers, and tablets. These devices can be used in a variety of ways, with both positive and negative outcomes. For example, preschool aged children may use a device to learn letters, numbers, or colors. School aged children may use a computer to conduct research, or watch an educational show. A child may also sit in front of the television for many hours, reducing physical activity, and become obese. I believe it is important for the parent or caregiver of the child to monitor the amount of screen time, as well as the content to optimize the benefits these devices can offer.

In many ways I’m a normal teenager. One way i’m not a normal teenager is I play too many video games. In fact after school I play 1 or 2 video games. During school if i have time I play games on my phone. I think from all the videogames I play that my grades have dropped some not much but a little. If we go over the amount of screen time then it could affect us later in life. If we have too much screen time then the prefrontal cortex won't tell us if something is bad or good because the prefrontal is not developed fully. As someone who is expecting in October, 2017 I believe that screen time limits are infact very vital for children. I believe that with all of the smart phones, xbox systems, that have many violent video games, are not appropriate for children at all.
