Marty (26) swings by the California Correctional Center (CCC) to pick his brother Derek (24) up from the prison gates. Once he picks his brother up in their father’s hunting truck, the two hit the California highway and catch up on old times. The conversation at first, seems pointless and goes nowhere. A couple minutes into their conversation, Derek tells Marty he wants to stay out this time and help the family as much as possible. Marty, tells Derek he needs to since their father took their mother’s death harder than anyone else in the family. The two brothers come to an agreement to help one another just as Marty enters the Route 1 highway. Instead of making sure he’s okay, she calls to complain about their daughter Mia’s hospital bills and even blames her husband (the officer) for their financial difficulties. His wife also reminds him how he was “demoted from narcotics” to patrol, and that’s why they’re having difficulties paying bills.
After the phone call, the officer continues running their information. After learning about Derek’s early release, and talking to his wife, the officer walks back over to the truck. This time, he takes his time walking over to the truck. He scans the bed of the truck before going up to the driver side window.
Once the officer gets close enough to the truck, he orders the two men out. The two brother’s laugh at the situation in disbelief and wants to know, why they officer is forcing them out of their father’s truck. Derek, however, refuses to cooperate with the officer and begins shouting out offensive terms. Marty, tells him to “shut up” and that’s when Derek turns his frustration towards his brother and starts attacking him. Later, Daniel recalls when their mother invited the boy’s Jewish history teacher over for dinner. Things turned out of control with Derek’s sister stood up against her brother, saying that what he was doing was wrong and she didn’t agree. The argument turned violent so fast when Derek grabbed his sister’s hair and began to choke her. After an argument, Derek yelled at the teacher, and showed him his Swastika tattoo, affirming that it meant “not welcome.” Derek’s mom says Derek needs to move out by the morning. After everyone has fallen asleep, Daniel informs Derek that two black guys are breaking into his car. It is this night that Derek murders the two black guys and gets arrested shortly after pulling the trigger. He was trying to find a way to Doc’s house when he accidentally stopped his parents from meeting and falling in love. Instead, his mother falls in love with him. Also, the plan Marty and Doc come up with to get Marty back to the future does not go as smoothly as planned. The car runs on nuclear energy, which they have no access to. They do come up with a plan where they will harness energy from a lightening bolt that is planned to strike the town’s clock tower at the end of the week.

Dalton realized right away his fourwheeler was much louder than normal. Branden had to swerve so he wouldn't hit the muffler and damage it. Branden stopped Dalton with a rev of his engine and explained to Dalton that his muffler fell off. Branden raced back to the house where Dalton's brother Garrett was. Garrett was working on his fourwheeler when Brandon told him the muffler flew off and tumbled into the dirt. Garrett quickly grabbed a rag for the extremely hot muffler and a screwdriver from the wall. He fired up his fourwheeler and took off into the field.
