What would the world be like if there was no resort to violence for a fixture of conflict or fun? The 1967 novel 'The Outsiders' by S.E Hinton follows the existence of a young boy and the way that he lives with such violence in his life. Throughout all and all the notion of violence being engrained in the characters being despite socio-economic divides is heavily purveyed. It is with examples of rough friendships and hostility between the Greasers and the Socs that this message is put forth. To begin with, there is an example of this prerequisite of wildness shown in the relationship between two young greasers who are in fact, friends. Both Dally and Tim Shepard are said to be 'buds' despite [quote in c.2 abt dally slashing tims tires and

In the novel The Outsiders, the act of violence negatively affects the plot of the entire book. First, Dally's dying had an important role in altering the tone of the book negatively. For instance, the text states “Dally didn't die a hero”. He died violent and young and desperate, just like we’d know he’d die someday. [Hinton 154]” The text displays the fact that Dally risking his life just for Johnny's dying led to his dying not being remembered positively.
There are many characters in the Outsiders book that found their identity in conflict. Bob is one of the characters in the Outsiders that found his identity in conflict. The quote “Conflict creates action, and action defines character” means how a simple conflict will lead to an action and depending on how the action is dealt with and is how people will “look” at the character. Darrel is 20, and Sodapop is 16, The three of them are brothers, they recently lost their parents in a car accident. In the beginning and in the end Ponyboy describes Paul Newman’s characteristics and how “perfect” Ponyboy thinks Paul Newman’s life is.
Violence accounts for 1.4 million deaths each year and most of them are because of appearances of people. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a book about two gangs (Socs and Greasers) who have a negative relationship. This negative relationship leads to violence such as fighting and even stabbing. This happens because of the appearances of the gang members. If someone would dress as a greaser and walk up to a group of socs they would probably get beat up. The author S.E. In the beginning of the book Ponyboy thinks that violence is the solution to the Socs, but later through Johnny stabbing Bob, and finally making amends with Darry, Ponyboy figures out that you can’t solve social conflict with violence. This theme was relevant to the real world in Hinton’s time and still is today.
