The outsiders had many unforgettable scenes between the book and the movie. It consisted lines from the book and then was translated into a big movie. Some of the parts in the book was not all included in the movie. The were many differences and similarities in the movie and book for example how in the movie Johnny jumped a Soc and Ponyboy had a lot of different opinions of what personality Johnny has turned into or in the book how the conversation between Cherry and Ponyboy was longer than in the movie where the conversation was only about a line a two long. Based on the two, the movie had a lot of differences than similarities from the book because of the time of what happened next, and scenes from the book were cut out by the movie . The book had a lot of differences and similarities, but based on the differences there were a lot. For instance, in the book Johnny was in the hospital with Ponyboy and Two-bit and the nurse told Johnny that his mother came to see him. He refused and on the way out his …show more content…
Another contrast between the book is during the rumble Johnny does get beaten and Sodapop does get angry and beat the Socs’ …show more content…
A quote stating this matter, “That’s why we’re separated,” I said, “It’s not money, it’s feeling-- you don’t feel anything and we feel too violently (Hinton 38).” This was a scene in the movie and book to tell Ponyboy that both groups aren’t that great. Another similarity ,between the book and movie, is when they both open up to each other especially Randy and Ponyboy. This is where the Soc’s actually feel sorry and have emotion and feelings for others. The book and the movie both have scenes that are both explained to the audience in a different
Comparing the differences in the book of “ The outsiders” to the movie there are a few things that have been changed. There is a significant difference with one of the deaths. A few situations are also changed . Such as the rumble and how the boys enter the hospital to see one of their friends. The intro and ending of both the book and the movies are different. There are scenes that weren’t added to the movie. The author, S.E Hinton, and the director Francis Ford Coppola deviated which parts were not as valuable and chose to cut some unimportant scenes.
In the book, it specifically shows Ponyboy starting off by walking out of a movie theater thinking of how he wished to be the star that was in the movie he watched but then gets jumped by the Socs. They have him pinned down, but the gang comes and rescue him. There, Ponyboy explains to the reader how each gang member is like and then they take him home (Hinton 9). As the story continues, Ponyboy and Johnny are backed up against a
The outsiders book and movie are both dangerously amazing! They have a few differences but for the most part they're pretty similar. You may not think they're that different but they are in some ways.
The Outsiders book and movie were similar and different in many ways. An example of difference could be by how in the beginning the Ponyboy was jumped but in the movie they skipped right to when Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy went to the movies. A similarity between them could be how in the movie and in the book both took place in Oklahoma. This evidence exemplifies the ways that the movie is related and the way that the movie contrasts from the book. Skipping the part when Ponyboy gets jumped and the setting in both the movie and the book taking in the same place are just some of the comparisons and contrasts between “The Outsiders” movie and the book.
In the book “The Outsiders” there is more detail and the plot seems to go at a slower pace than the movie. The greasers are from the west side of town while
Another big difference between the movie and the book is that the character are not as well-developed in the movie and they just seem like a bunch of boys. In the movie they do not show Johnny getting beaten up so badly and this is like the main event that like causes all the problems like Johnny killing Bob and them having to run from the police. If Johnny has not been beaten up all of this might have never happened. The church burning down and the death of Bob, Johnny, and Dally where all important key events that were similar to the book, All of this impacted the way I watched this movie, because the entire time I was comparing it to the book while watching. I would be like yes I have seen this before I know that Ponyboy was thinking at the time because it was written in the
The story The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and the movie The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton there are more similarities than differences. In the book, there are lots of details about what exactly happens. Despite the movie lacking such details, it is enough information to convey to the reader about what is happening. Although the book and the movie had some minute differences, there are many more events that are similar between the book and the movie than differences.
The change in characters in the two books are a very close similarity. Ponyboy says something when he is confronted by his enemies, the Socs, that proves Ponyboy
You would think having the author on set of their book to film adaptation would make the film exactly like the book, right? That's mostly true. Although The Outsiders is full of similarities between the movie and the book, there are still a few significant differences. These differences can be a break it or make it for the movie. The Outsiders while having many similarities, it also has many differences from the book that impacted it in positive and negative ways.
¨ The Outsiders” movie and novel are both very adventurous and extraordinary. They are very similar in many different ways. However, they are also very different from each other. The movie and novel share similar qualities.
The movie was made 17 years after the book was published. The movie started with Ponyboy beginning to write his essay. After Ponyboy starts writing his essay it then switches to the scene where Pony, Johnny, and Darry are walking around town on their way to the drive-in. When Pony, Johnny, and Dally are walking to the walk-in, they find a group of little kids. Dally scares them by taking their cards and then all three of them run after the little kids. All of that does not happen in the book. In the movie, there is not much heard of Soda’s love for horses or the rodeo. When Pony starts talking about his parents, he then remembers how they were killed and the car crash is shown. In the book, the death of Pony’s parents is barely mentioned. The last thing that is different is that in the movie there is only one mention of Sandy. It does not mention how she has to move to Florida because she is pregnant. There was definitely more detail and more information about the characters in the book but both the book and movie are equally
The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. There are may similarities and also many differences between the two the book is by far more interesting and more detailed then the movie. I enjoyed the book a lot and the movies a lot but the movie was missing a lot.
There are 2 different versions to “The Outsiders,” a book by: S.E. Hinton. There are many similarities and differences between the book and the movie. In my opinion the book is better because it shows more detail and will always go that extra mile to have every little detail. And the book is more realistic. But the movie is still really good, even though it cuts out a many of parts that the book still has.
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
In conclusion the book and movie had more similarities than differences and this is one of the reasons that I loved it so much. If the book and movie were completely different I would have been mad because the book was so brilliant that I could not wait to watch the
