I read the Adventure book Michigan Chillers Mayhem on Mackinac Island by Johnathan Rand. This book has 170 pages. According to Amazon a customer said “i love this book SO MUCH! it is the best!” I think that the intended audience for this book is 1st-6th graders because a first grader that is smart can read this book, and a 7th grader would not like this book because it is too easy for them.

The main character is named Jackson. He loves nature facts and wants to become an animal scientist when he is older. At first he doesn’t like Crenshaw and then they become friends. I can relate to him when he reads, because I read a lot too. Another character is Crenshaw. He is Jackson’s imaginary friend. He is a huge black and white cat. Another character is Robin. She is Jackson’s younger sister and loves driving him crazy.

Characters: The main character is Jayson Barnes. Jayson is 12 and enjoys basketball. He meets a friend named Zoe at his new school.

I read the Fantasy book American Chillers Wisconsin Werewolves by Jonathan Rand. This book is 576 pages. According to Amazon a customer said ‘’What you see is what you get! No complaints!’’ I think the intended audience for this book is grades 3-6 because this book Is too hard for 2nd graders and too easy for 7th graders.

The book I am reading is Wings of Fire: Legends: Darkstalker the author is Tui T Sutherland and the genre is fantasy. The number of pages in this book are 358 and the recommended reading age is 7-12, it is rated this because it has a lot killing in it.

In the beginning of the story Mia and her family are living in a village when they find out that their whole life is about to change their dad and grandmother are at risk of being taken so they have to leave. They leave during the night and start walking along the road when Mia’s dad hears a truck coming and tells everyone to jump into a bush. During the summer I read two books, each both challenging and brilliant in their own ways. Those books were Kindred by Octavia E. Butler and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Although both are great reads for students in Honors English, I have to say that Kindred is more appropriate to be added to the list of books to be read by Honors English 9th graders. Kindred is more challenging than The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, but in a different way than people might expect.

The main characters of this story are Kyla, Ben Nix, Amy (new sister), Sandra (new mom), David (new dad), and Dr. Lysander. Sam, Quinn and Astrid are trying to figure out what is going on. They go to Quinn’s house to find his parents, but they are gone. Next, they go to Astrid’s house. Her parents are also gone, along with her little brother. Finally, the go to Sam’s house. Sam’s mother is also gone, but he finds her diary in her computer that has some interesting things in it that could explain why people have disappeared.

This was an interesting book and I also took the time to watch the movie as well which helped understand the characters, setting, and reasoning behind the writing a little better. The book opens up with Willie and Lymon headed to Pittsburgh with a truckload of water melon in the back. They arrive at Boy Willie sister’s house and he is eager to get inside to see her, for it has been 3 years.
