Recycling is more than just a great idea, it is and must be a way of living. The way we take care of our environment is how our environment will treat us. If we do not take care of our environment, not only will our home look unfit to live in but it is unethical to leave the environment we live in unhealthy for our future. Carbon dioxide, a gas, is produced during the recycling process and can lead to climate change.”This shows that recycling can cause climate change which causes global warming.This also shows that recycling is not always good for the earth.

Recycling has become "mandatory" in many states and towns. Landlords can fine a resident for not following the rules of recycling. It was made official awhile back that certain things should not be sent to our landfills,such as paint cans, car parts, and any kind of hazardous materials. Americans are already recycling at a high rate.

As a nation Americans produced over 200 million tons of waste in 2013. Only 34.4 percent of that waste was recovered. Over 65 percent of that garbage is left to rot and pollute the environment. Each Friday, my family takes out their trash to be picked up and hauled off to who knows where, and every other week the same goes for our recyclables. But how much is truly recycled, and how do we fare against other countries? That’s why every time people reduce waste, reuse, and recycle their garbage, they save the earth and even millions of lives from the harmful effects of pollution. Overall, requiring recycling will allow pollution rates to plummet and the environmental state of the earth to improve.

Growing up, there was always recycling bins at school, at public places, and at local businesses that were available 24/7 for people to use.
