Super Bowl XXXVI was a matchup between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams. It was suppose to be a day where the Rams’ prolific offence add their second Lombardi Trophy. “New England was a 14 point underdog. The third highest spread in super bowl history.” (McGinn 278) The Rams racked up 427 of offense to the Patriots 214 of offence. Patriots planted 8 times out of their first to drivers, and had been inside the Rams 25 yard line only once. However it was still a game. With 1:21 left to go in the fame Tom Brady with no time outs lead his team to the Rams 38 yard line to set up the winning 48 yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri. (YouTube) The Patriots’ Adam Vinatieri crushed a 48 yard field goal to win the game to start what would become a dynasty. The margin between the two teams was very narrow. The Cardinals offense was powerful and the Steelers difference was mean. (McGinn 346) The Steelers won the game 27-23. Thing got very interesting in the last quarter with 2 lead changes in the last two and a half minutes. (McGinn) For the most part of the first 3 quarters, it was all Pittsburgh with a 20-7 lead over Arizona. To end the first half James Harrison had a 100 yard pick six. Arizona stormed back in the 4 quarter to take the lead after Fitzgerald’s 64 yard touchdown sprint. 2:30 was left in the game and Big Ben lead his team to win the game with an unreal throw and catch. This was a battle between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. Both teams had a plethora of offense. The Falcons had speed, and the Patriots used precisions. Both defenses were respectful. This game was bound to be a good one. (Associated Press
