Yarden Ben-David SPC1608 Professor Barbara Gutierrez 6/14/17 Persuasive Speech Outline: Attractiveness Leads To The Good Life Introduction: • Attention Grabber: Personal anecdote – I don’t remember the day I got picked first for kickball. This is largely due to the fact that I was never picked first for kickball. It was always the members of the exclusive league of ‘hot sixth graders’, which were all mutually agreed on by mostly people of the grade. I have no idea what made these people more or less valuable than myself, or my other classmates, they weren’t even that good at kickball, seriously. These days were forever haunted by my mother’s words, after a long, exhausting day of the terrors and wonders of middle school, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” • Motivation For Listening: A personal anecdote will tie in my audience because it is something different, and a story the audience hasn’t ever been told before. It doesn’t come from boring fact; it comes from life experience. • Thesis Statement: Why do more physically attractive people live the ‘good life’? Now, what do I mean by the ‘good life’? I am referring to an endless void of limitless opportunities, better job offers, more friends, and of course - more lovers. We, as humans, are psychologically programmed to be more accepting and respectful of more physically attractive human beings. First Main Point: Culture Plays Its Part • Define attractiveness: According to the dictionary, to be attractive is to be “pleasing or appealing to the senses.” • But how does one know what is appealing to his or her senses? (Tie in culture, and how different cultures desire different things attractive) • Study conducted by Kushnick about the different foot sizes. Describe the scenario. The Karo Barak, an Indonesian ethnic group, deemed women with larger feet to be more attractive. Other countries, such as the United States, Brazil, and India, found women with smaller feet to be more attractive. Transition: Culture is just one of many examples of factors that set what is deemed attractive between people apart, but how to these factors of what is attractive contribute to success in every day life? An example could be looking for a job. Second Main Point:
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience how to be more successful as a college student.
In people’s perspective, attractiveness possess a wide variety of positive personal qualities compared to unattractive people. Result from the study on physical attractiveness stereotypes show the attractive people had the most positive ratings. For example, they are judged as less disturbed, rated as happier and more successful, and more likely to be hired after a job interview. Thus, the concept of attractiveness having a correlation between an individual’s physical appearance and his/her achievements, abilities, psychological well-being and/or other status characteristics to create a perception is
I will start introduce human behaviors and illustrate the importance roles that they play in people lives.
TRANSITION: Now that we know some key difference between brand name drugs and generic drugs, we can take a look at their prices.
Voting gives the population an equal opportunity completely blind of sex, race, origin, education in contributing to community development (Akande, 2011).

Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? According to a 2006 research paper published by University of Texas at Austin, a workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help.(Logos) Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. Misguided peoples are outcast by God and left to their immoral habits and their deteriorating health.
Literature on the topic of attractiveness is very extensive. The human face is something that catches every ones attention and more over the scientists as well the psychologists are interested in analyzing the ability of humans to extract information of the others. Several factors and features are associated with attractiveness. Some examples include facial symmetry, skin color, facial traits, clear skin and health of facial skin. It is hypothesized that facial symmetry is an important factors in measuring physical attractiveness. Different features may be perceived as attractive by different people.
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience to fight world hunger and poverty through child sponsorship programs.
II. Main Point 2. God tells us in 1 John 1: 9“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” And again in 2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come.”

What is beauty? How do we decide who is attractive and who is not? Society is full of information telling us what is beautiful, but what fact is that information based on? The topic of beauty has been studied, analyzed and controversial for centuries. We all know the feeling you can have when you hear a beautiful song that brings joy to your heart, stand in a field of flowers that excites your eyes, or admire a face that is visually pleasing. As human beings, we are all drawn to beauty, but what is it that makes something beautiful? The controversial issue that surrounds beauty is that some believe that true beauty is defined by someone’s outer appearance, while others believe it is something that is experienced through a person’s
