“we know that the costs of these events can be measured in lost lives and lost livelihoods, lost homes, lost businesses, hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency services and disaster relief. In fact, those who are already feeling the effects of climate change don’t have time to deny it -- they’re busy dealing with it.”(Barack Obama, ) To what extent should the U.S. government alleviate climate change in America .Climate change can affect our country through a number of factors cultural, social and natural. However what is being done to cut down pollution, global warming and any other factors of climate change that is hazardous to our country are all the perspectives that are into consideration when trying to find a solution to this worldly problem. How the alleviates climate change and do what needs to be done determines the sustainability of America for future generations. …show more content…
Arroyo gives a general overview of America's history of natural disasters and causes. Arroyo does a great job of relating issues such as human necessity, behavior, environmental issues and natural disasters. Her logic is compelling suggesting that we should construct our lives upon the fact we cannot control nature. For example, Arroyo suggests that cities like New York is incredibly vulnerable to storms and sea level rise as with the subway flooding. But ventilation grates for the subway system show that solutions can be functional and attractive. This research has provided the U.S. government with base knowledge on how we must design our lives around environmental issues such as climate change in order to avoid social and
Abstract: The pressing issue of climate change is attributed to both human and microbial activity. The latter is often overlooked because the media places heavy emphasis on human actions, such as burning fossil fuels, to be the drivers of global warming—some have gone so far as to label this epoch “The Anthropocene.” While humans do impact the environment, it is inappropriate to call it “The Anthropocene” because it undermines microbes’ relationship with the soil, and the centrality of their role in ecosystems. Therefore, the solutions I offer to mitigate climate change, and its consequences such as famine and spread of diseases, consider the interactions between the biotic and abiotic worlds. In this speech, I also discuss how my actions would attempt to alleviate climate change issues, and how the measures the UNFAO takes would increase everyday social responsibility. The UNFAO should 1. Promote no-till agriculture 2. Fund research to develop technology to improve power plants and 3. Subsidize public transport.
The disasters of global warming struck the entire earth community. From the last century, our motherly earth rises 1 degree celsius on its average temperature (logos--Number and statics). People are having terrible heat stroke and other health problem like headache and fever. And according to World Health Organization in 2010, more than 135000000 people’s health suffered from this extreme misery from days to days (logos--Number and statics).
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the growth of climate change worldwide and the source of its cause.
A. Attention Getter – The uninhabitable Earth, is what we`ll soon be called. Anticipating what the exact effects will be on mankind and other living organisms on planet Earth is tricky, however, a continuously growing amount of evidence suggest that it will be intense. In its Fifth Assessment Report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of 1,300 independent scientific experts from countries all over the world under the auspices of the United Nations, concluded there's a more than 95 percent probability that human activities over the past 50 years have warmed our planet.
Attention Getting Device: On November 21, 2017 NASA published an article on the issue of global climate change which quoted this, ''NASA tool link port-city seal levels to regional ice melts''. NASA has been working to minimize the effect of global climate change and recently it has developed 'NASA tools'. This particular tool links changes in sea level of around 293 global port cities. Most specifically, the tool links changes seen in vulnerable regions, such as Greenland and the Antarctic Peninsula, where ice lands are melting rapidly. Such development will allow coastal planners to be aware and prepare for rising seas level for years to come.
Question “Do you know that using cars for the planet is like smoking cigarettes for people?”
Our planet faces a future of extreme weather so whether you call it Global Warming or Climate Change the effects are the same. We have seen our planet is getting hotter and increasing the chances of weather disasters. We have witnessed record heat, droughts, severe storms, and fire already. When connecting the dots between climate change and the effects we are seeing with the weather and health, the lines are clear. Our Earth is saying something but it is up to us to listen and pay attention to the signs. But why should we care about one degree of warming? After all, the temperature fluctuates by many degrees every day where we live. I will explain this all to you.
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to help reduce climate change that is causing severe weather by trying to help combat vampire electric devices in our homes.
I am here today to speak to you, the governing body of Ormiston Six Villages Academy, about an idea I have had to get the students in touch with the environment by joining a climate change campaign.
My Fellow Americans, I am sure that many, if not all, of you are aware of the debate surrounding climate change. The issue has been well-covered in the media, with positions being taken on all sides of the issue. There are those that have sounded the alarm, warning of impending doom should we fail to act. Some have argued that climate change is but a passing fad, a nonissue that poses no real threat to our way of life. Others still have carved out positions in between these two extremes.
Bailey Allen SPH 107- Persuasive Speech Outline March 27, 2018 Global Warming Speech Goal: My goal is to persuade my audience to recognize that global warming is real and that we all need to take action in saving our planet. Introduction: Barack Obama said “There’s one issue that will define the contours of this country more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of climate change.”
There has been so much increasing talk regarding climate change in the last few years. My Ted Talks speaker is related to that very subject, climate change. The Earth’s average temperature has risen by 1.5 degree F over the past century, and is projected to rise another 0.5 to 8.6 degree F over the next hundred years. For the people of Kiribati, climate change isn’t something to be debated, denied or legislated against – it’s an everyday reality. In this remote nation of 33 islands, located in the central Pacific Ocean, the land is disappearing one inch at a time, as ocean waves slowly creep inland. This Pacific island nation may soon be underwater, thanks to rising sea levels.
In order for us to help the wildlife during global warming we need to decrease the amount of pollution we put in the air. We can do this by reducing the amount of energy we use and how many times we use our vehicles in a day. We could also stop littering and start recycling. Land development is also a cause. All of these ways can lead to deterioration of certain species’ habitats. This is a serious problem and i want to persuade and and inform you what we can do to stop it and how it is affecting everyday life lives all the way to to the littlest things to the biggest thing. Global warming is growing at a faster and faster rate. Society thinks global warming is not a big deal and is okay with it. Nobody should be okay with this. Global warming is a horrible way of how we treat yourself, our planet, and the animals.
B) Also instead of turning up the heat when your cold, put on an extra layer of clothes. Again you'll be saving energy and money.
"Climate change is predominantly caused by human expansion of the greenhouse effect—warming that results when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from Earth toward space. One of the main gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect is known as carbon dioxide (CO2). When we burn fossil fuels like coal to generate electricity, we emit copious amounts of CO2 into our atmosphere, which results in many devastating effects to our earth. Many people don’t believe in climate change and deem it as unimportant because they are afraid to face the consequences. Let’s face it, climate change is the biggest threat to our planet and we need to address this issue, fast!
