It could be said that my assigned site is the neighborhoods all around the state of New Hampshire. But my main base and where my supervisor or contact person is based out of is in Manchester Usually, before we as a group hit the streets of Manchester and the surrounding towns including Hooksett, Goffstown and Bedford we meet up at the headquarters which is located right on Elm street. There were two options offered to me by my campaign supervisor Elliot Gault. The first was to be an office intern in the offices located on Elm Street stamping envelops, making phone calls and filling papers away in a cabinet. The other option, which caught my eye, was to go out and knock on doors all around the state. This experience seemed more interesting to me because my role has a bigger impact on the voting results this November. …show more content…
That concern is possibly running into people who may not want us knocking on their front door of their house or giving us their time. I’m already prepared to talk to people who might not want us knocking on their door asking for their support for Kelly Ayotte. It should be mentioned, there are a couple aspects that make me feel more confortable and that is the fact that we have been and will only be interacting with residents in safe neighborhoods. Whether we like to admit it or not, there are dangerous neighborhoods in Manchester. Another aspect that makes me feel very safe is that we will be traveling in groups of five or six. We as representatives will never be walking around alone no matter what neighborhood we might campaign
The Kelly Ayotte campaign was a well-run organization and played a large role in getting the New Hampshire citizens to the voting booth. I was honored to serve with such great people from who came to New Hampshire from all over the country. These people like myself, wanted to hopefully help Kelly Ayotte get re-elected to the senate. The campaign headquarters was based out of a first floor office, located in the Brady Sullivan Tower in Manchester. I was a man of many tasks, and tried to help where I was needed depending on the day. I volunteered in the office and was out in the field, knocking door to door. My job was incredibly important because going into the start of my service I knew the senate race was going to be extremely close, the closest Senate race in the country for that matter. As we observed, the race was extremely close and unfortunately my candidate lost three weeks ago. Although, it was not the outcome we were looking for, I have a couple of theories of why we may have lost by only eight hundred votes. If more un-educated voters exercised their right to vote, the outcome could have possibly been different. Whether we like it or not, most of the citizens in Manchester New Hampshire are not as well versed on public issues and candidates. However, towns including Bedford and Merrimack were very well versed. Towns including Bedford take election cycles more seriously and in my eyes seemed more educated on the issues. The experience volunteering on the Kelly
There was very many trials and events during this time, so much so I could write a book so this is really only the tip of the tip of the iceburg.
Local politics were also on the agenda, with party officials recruiting volunteers to sit on town and county committees and work as ballot clerks, and candidates for county and state office collecting signatures and making speeches.
Today we sent out a veteran group of canvassers. We started with a skill session for rap practice focusing on undecided voters. We then moved towards a good open discussion about questions brought up at the doors. Canvassers got to share some of their successful response outcomes to undecided voters with one another. This helped everyone improve their raps and expand their approaches. Upon the return from field, canvassers shared some on the interactions they had today. A few mentioned signs of opposition being out in the area as well. Even bringing back a flyer given to a canvasser with a heading that states “Fracking in YOUR Neighborhood”; about the Synergy Resources Corporation meeting going on in the area to, “voice concerns, ask questions,
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
My identity can be defined by moments in my life. Moving to Canada, learning English and going to high school are three major moments in my life. Going through these experiences have changed the person in me and made me more confident, stronger, better in everything.
What do I feel you should know about me? I think as myself as a well-rounded student all together. I think you should know that I enjoy English much better than math, and a large percent of my other classes. Sometimes, it takes me a moment or two to understand a new lesson. At other times, I catch on fast. It just depends on if I can wrap my head around the concept we are learning. When it comes to writing papers I tend to get writer’s block quite often; however, when I think of something to write, I try to stick with it and add more and more to that subject. Occasionally I procrastinate homework (don’t we all), but I try to stay on top of things. I do make sure to get all of my homework in on time.
My childhood was fun. I got to hangout with family a lot more. I would go over to friends house and play videogames. I would play hide n seek with a group of friends. Life was a lot stressful because school was easier for me and I had less responsibilities.
As a child who has grown up moving around several times, I believe it has shaped me to find out who I am. It has encouraged myself to find out who I am and try new things. When I was younger I was extremely reserved but meeting new people as I moved schools forced me to branch out and become the individual I am today. One of my strongest passions is succeeding, but to succeed I've come to realize you have to fail. As a typical child figuring out what I love to do, I trial and error with almost every sport you could think of soccer, basketball, softball, gymnastics. In middle school I was in sports and also band, but I came to realize academics is one of the things I love to succeed in the most, it gives me a rush of happiness when I'm doing
Since being adopted, I have continued to try to find more about who I am and what I am supposed to do. Although I have been asked many times when I found out and how it makes me feel, it is still a taboo topic to talk about because of the little information I know. I was admitted to the orphanage after being found at the bottom of a staircase in the middle of a village square. After ten months of being admitted, I was adopted, but I almost did not make it because of a high fever and infection. As a baby, I did not want to hold any medicine that was given to me and because of this, a close family friend had to fly in some Western medicine so that I could have a chance at life. Since then it has been a challenge to find my place in this world
Finding who I am. It was one of the most confusing processes ever, but one of the most important. It helped give me insight into not just myself, but others too. My beliefs give me guidelines on how to live my life and how I treat others, but it wasn’t always that easy and straightforward. It took a lot of trial and error for me to find who I really am, but those trials helped me form my belief process and they hold a lot of importance to me.
Who are you that approached me from behind, returning from the store that night ?
In the year 1999 May 28th a very special boy was born, the very special baby boy was named Tiger, named after the famous golf player Tiger Woods. If I were describe myself I would say that I am generally an introverted person and not very outgoing although through these years it has improved by a lot.Throughout my life there had been countless of important events and influence of people people around me that made me who i am today. The two particularly important events that i am going to talk about in depth are, my first time traveling internationally and how i felt. As well as coming over all the way to America to attend a boarding school and to live independently. The one important person that I am going to talk about that influenced me the most in my life is my grandmother.
Even my close friends say that they don't know me well. I don’t feel sorry about this because it is the product of my efforts to hide my identity. Born half Japanese and half Korean, I have been secretive as to my identity since I have never been welcomed in Korea and in Japan. The Koreans have shunned me for being a descendant of the people who colonized them brutally, while the Japanese distanced themselves from me, saying that I am one of those who keep demanding apologies that they had already done.
As a young girl in elementary school I would get the question “what are you?” As a junior in high school, whether in school or in the grocery store, I am still frequently asked that same question. I used to feel embarrassed of my identity when they asked what I was. My usual response was to slightly laugh and tell them I was “mixed.”
