Myers Briggs Personality Type Recently I have taken a personality test and I was placed in the category of ESTP or the “Entrepreneur.” ESTP means i’m extrovert, sensing, thinking, and perceiving. Later, traits were given to me which turned out to be very true. Two of these traits were impatient and risk-prone. Without realizing it before, I have thought of many experiences that can prove these traits to be true. One of my greatest weaknesses listed as an ESTP is being very impatient which I have noticed happening by just reading a book. I feel an urging sensation to just read faster and faster as if time was running out, which causes me to sometimes miss a couple of key points. My heart rate goes through the roof and my breathing feels like I had just ran a marathon. However, at the same time, I feel like jumping out of the chair and moving around. Many …show more content…
Since I am very impatient this could also lead to risks. My next trait is being risk-prone, basically this happens when I don't feel like waiting for further instructions because I might run out of time of doing something, so I do what I think we're supposed to do which could lead to a good thing or, usually, a bad thing. I have had many experiences with this as well. One being writing a simple essay. I just skim through it and I try to read a lot of it. Most of the time I get distracted and then read the same thing I read a while ago which gets very frustrating. However, because this happens, I just turn it in without reading over it and without having a friend read it as well. Many times I do ask a friend to read it but they don't respond very quickly so I just turn it in as it is then regret it later. This personality test did show accurate information which informed me what my weaknesses and strengths are without me even knowing what they were before. This helped me understand my traits better and maybe I’ll able to prevent them next time they come
As I reviewed my MBTI results, most of my percentages have not drastically changed over time. This gives me continued confidence in the following MBTI results which indicate I am an ?ISTJ?: introvert (16%), sensing (9%), thinking (31%) and judging (53%) (Jung Typology Test, 1998-2017).
Why do NFL teams conduct training camps annually? Fundamentally, they are testing each player’s level of knowledge of the team’s playbook. This assists the coaches in deciding who to keep or cut, but more importantly, it allows the executives to assess each athlete’s character. Likewise, the Myers-Briggs Test has everyone answer a myriad of questions to figure out their specific personality. I received the designation of introverted, sensing, feeling, and judging or “ISFJ.” Simply, I am someone who avoids receiving attention, builds deep, personal friendships, and judges people harshly for their mistakes. Additionally, this test was extremely informative because it helped me identify possible future jobs and explained how I can further excel within social relationships.
Looking at the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Mark Wilson appears to be an ENFP. He’s very extraverted because he wasn’t afraid to try and start his new company. Once he realized that most telemarketers were unhappy and were only working as a telemarketer to progress in the job field, he knew that he had to change something right away. He seems intuitive because he looked at the “big picture” (making a company where telemarketers are happy and have long-lasting jobs) then figured out how to get there. He showed his feeling trait through his care for his coworkers and by trying to make them enjoy their jobs more. He didn’t make the new company to make a profit, his main reason was to help his fellow employees. His perceiving side stood out to
I personally think that this test got some of my personality traits but not all of it was spot on. It said that I am an
While, the results of the Myers and Briggs Personality Type test did not surprise me; however, I was startled as to how accurate the test described my personality.
John Adams once said, “Thanks be to God that he gave me stubbornness when I know I am right”. John Adams, like myself was introverted, intellectual, thinking, and judging, or an INTJ on the Myers Briggs personality test. Like all INTJs, Adams was stubborn and flouted the ideas of others that he did not agree with. By using my results from the Meyers Briggs personality test, I can examine how I react to certain things and use this to improve my Spirituality, my relationship with God, and ultimately my relationship with others through Christ.
I felt the Myers-Briggs type indicator results were accurate because I took it a year ago and it hasn’t changed. I have been a debater all my life and I am not going to change. The document that seemed most like me was “under stress, the ENTP may lose their ability to generate possibilities.” The document that seem least like me was “the least developed area for the ENTP is the Sensing-Feeling arena. Yes, the self-estimated type matches my reported type because a debater never hides from the truth. It was very interesting that this test match me better than most test.
After taking on online quiz to determine my Myers-Briggs Type, I analyze how each preference fits into my professional life in a positive or challenging way. I see the world from an external context; my energy comes from external sources therefore my first preference is Extraverted. I am able to conceptualize a broad view of the world, issues and situations as well as work on multiple tasks at one time as an iNtuitive. I use implications, intuition and an internal value system to gather information which is typical of a Feeler. And finally I seek order, and structure as a Judger personality. This makes up my type as ENFJ.
Other than that, I found the following to be accurate on my personality. Granted, I think the following results are useful to me because the personality test gives me options on a certain career fields I could potentially consider for my personality type. The information will help me in figuring out my future career because I am one of those people who has not figured out what I want to do for the rest of my life. I think the results will help guide me into the right direction for a career. Finally, after exploring the personality page links, I learned that I appear to seem like an extrovert but I am an introvert. The following means that I am so well at connecting with people that it seems like I am an extrovert. Also, I learned that I am strongly humanitarian in outlook. I am not surprised by this because I have been told by others that I am an individual who always tries to help make things better for not just a community but for others. Overall, I found the personality test to be very informative and I am definitely going to pay close attention to certain areas about my personality type to see if my personality really is like the test says it
The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important
In conclusion, all the four assessments showed my leadership qualities and areas need to be enriched. Student leadership inventory showed the three areas I need to focus which are 'Inspire a Shared Vision, challenge the Process, and Encourage the Heart'. Success in enterprise and in life has been, is now, and will continue to be a function of how well people work and engage with each other. Success in leadership depends on our capacity to build and sustain collaborative human relationships.
It is hard to say someone is specifically just one type, there is so much more to a person then the few characteristics listed. With that said I do think this test can make people realize their strengths and weaknesses. I enjoyed getting the results of my test and seeing how accurate it was. The only thing that bothered me about this is that I feel like some people could take this too seriously and think that the test describes every aspect of their life perfectly which it does
There are many similarities between the categories developed by the researchers and the ones found within the scales. The learning and motivational characteristics are very similar to the Myers-Briggs personality tests. Many times the type of individual you are (Reis and Sullivan, 2009, p. 14) will influence how you learn and are motivated. For example, if you have intuition you are going to focus more on abstract ideas whereas a sensing individual tends to focus on more concrete information, such as recalling factual information, understanding analytical reasoning (Reis and Sullivan, 2009, p. 14). The distinction of a person as gifted is partially dependent upon an individual’s personality.
“Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive.” - Matt Cameron. In my opinion, part of living life to the fullest is being outgoing. This is due to the fact that I am an Extrovert. As an extrovert, I both engage and initiate conversation, I prefer to lead, and I have high energy levels.
In the first week of class, we were asked to complete the Myers Briggs Personality test, and then to read up on our results. Once I had completed the typology “test”, I received my results in the form of four letters: INTJ, and afterwards, I decided to view what the four letters represented. Likewise, once I had begun to read the explanation provided by the website, I found that I was agreeing with several of the sentiments, as I felt it not only described my personality to near perfection, but also for the reason of how it was allowing me to come to better understand and accept myself. In other words, I felt that the results were self-fulfilling since they reflected upon who I am, and also, who I am not. For instance, I have found that
