In English 250 this semester we have used mainly three forms of communication. These are oral, visual, and electronically. These are some of the most important forms of communication in everyday life and this practice over the semester has helped me thrive and improve my skills to prosper in my field of study. As a business major, I have to be able to communicate orally well to be successful. Out of the two presentations I have done, I believe that my “G-Eazy” presentation was the better of the two. During the presentation I was able to talk fluently because I have been following G-Eazy for over two years. I have listened to all of his songs and can give you a list of my favorite ones, but some of the songs may not be in your taste of music.
The best speaker that I have ever heard is Bishop TD Jakes. Jakes is a Preacher, father, husband, teacher, very successful business man, movie producer and launched a syndicated talk show. There are several reasons why I believe that he is one of the best speakers that I have ever heard. One reason is that he is a man of great integrity. Although he is fallible his character speaks volume without him even uttering a word. Another reason he is such a prolific speaker is because of his ability to be led by his faith and thinks outside the box consequently producing a greater but new learning experience. George Bush describes TD Jakes as a kind man who puts faith into action. I am sure that he has attended many communication classes. However
The Communication methods that I use are verbal and non-verbal as well as written. The methods that I use with each learner depend on their individual needs. It is important that in all my communication I am not ambiguous or biased and that I communicate in a professional manner. “Good Communicators succeed in choosing the best medium of communication for the particular purpose in mind.” (Times 100 Business Case Studies; Date Accessed 10th May 2015) Examples of my communication methods are listed below:
Increasing the power and impact of speaking through behaviors to avoid and skills to master stands the perceived thesis of Julian Treasure’s TED Talks on “How to speak so that people want to listen” (2013). Likening the human voice to learning how to master an instrument, Treasure immediately establishes ethos with his heterogeneous audience by focusing his main idea on a simple, highly relatable topic, with dynamism, directness, and a palatable sense of expertise. Strategically applying non-repetitious doses of anecdotes to support his claims, the weighty supporting ideas are lightened and balanced creating ease of listening – audience members respond with laughs and smiles solidifying their bond and entertainment to the topic.
How we communicate with others in schools can be in many ways (as shown below)
The course, English 202C, was an invaluable tool for me to better my technical communication skills. I have learned many crucial tips to make my writing more professional and compact. This course helped me to understand the importance of saying what needs said in the most straightforward way and to get to the point as quickly as possible. These concepts will be useful in the workplace because people such as employers do not have time or the patience to read lengthy messages, reports or other forms of documentation.

Everybody likes money and is looking for a way to get more of it. In the song ¨Gimme Gimme¨ by G-eazy he talks about how everyone wants his money but can´t get it from him. G-eazyś music is all rap, which mostly talks about fame and money. Some people claim money isn't everything, but according to all these rappers, money can buy happiness. The more money you have the more successful you are and the happier you'll be, but is it true or not?
In this report I will talk about four different ways of communicating, the four different communication styles are written communication, non verbal, verbal and computerized. Communication is something that everyone does without even thinking. Communication is giving information either verbally or written and the person receiving and obtaining the information. This process is an ongoing process such as one person may say something and in turn you may say something. Now you both have gain new information. This can happen in the simplest conversations such as ‘How
From the evidence that I collected during the geniverse experiment, I can support Tamora’s claim that each baby drake receives half of its genetic information from the father and the other half from its mother. The first piece of evidence that I had was during the third case, specifically involving meiosis. Meiosis is a special type of cell division which results in four gametes that have half the genes that the parent has. In the meiosis we were able to see that each parent contributed three chromosomes from one of their gametes to make a total of six chromosomes in each baby drake. If three of the six come from one parents and the other three come from the other parent then that supports the claim that a baby drake receives half of its genes from its mother and the other half of his genes from his father, so each parent contributes an equal about of genes to the offspring. Now that we have established that meiosis supports by claim, i wonder if the parents that the genes come from can be used to support my claim?
Communication is a two-way process that takes practice and time to be fully effective and is very important in every aspect our personal and professional lives. We communicate every day of our lives both verbally or nonverbally. The process of verbal communication is the exchanging information by transmitting an idea, send that idea, receive feedback, understand the idea and the feedback and provide feedback to the person who sent the message. The main components of communication are context, encoder, message, medium, decoder, and feedback. The context could be social, chronological, cultural, or physical. The individual sending the message will
Over this summer course I have learned a lot about communication. I learned how significant nonverbal and verbal communication is, along with listening. I never fully understood how big communication is in our daily lives. I now realize that it is a huge aspect of how we continue in our lives. This course has showed me different levels of communication.
I took a public speaking class at NAU; however, I merely enrolled in this course because it was a requirement and I failed to fully embrace the meaning of the concept. This capstone, on the other hand, has accomplished in convincing me of the true power in communication. Professor Stroh arranged for several guest speakers, each with their own unique communication style, to address our class. I admired the abilities of each speaker and acquiring their skillset is a primary goal I have for the future. For example, Paul Melcher spoke eloquently, his lecture was well-structured, and he did not rely on notes for support. Consequently, I will strive to incorporate his strengths as a speaker in my effort to establish a dialogue with
