Michael Jordan moved to Wilmington, North Carolina while he was still young. Ever since he was old enough to walk, he had a strong love and passion for basketball. His sophomore year of high school, he tried out for the school basketball team. Unfortunately, he failed to make the cut, but his determination and love for the sport did not allow him to give up.

When Jordan didn't make his high school team as a sophomore, he got up at 6:00 am everyday to improve his basketball skills. He ended up signing with the University of North Carolina, where he earned the starting spot as a freshman. While playing for the Bulls, Jordan received many awards such as, MVP, five championships, Olympic gold medals, slam dunk contests, and many more defensive and offensive awards. The Bulls of the 90’s were a team that, regardless of your team loyalty, you had to watch Michael Jordan. His achievements during that time set a bar that was unreachable for other players. From the time he retired the 2nd time, sportswriters have been looking for someone to replace him someone to fill in for Michael.
