“I've failed over and over and over again in my life… and that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan. A quote that says it all about Michael Jordan’s life and basketball career. During his career, he had always played the game of basketball above the rim, bigger than life he was thought to be and the image of athletic perfection. Michael Jordan had changed the game of basketball and changed history while at it. He loved to compete and if there were ever a moment, he would rise to that moment and seek it like nothing else. The season after in 1996, Michael Jordan brought the championship rings back to the Chicago Bulls becoming one of the first players in the NBA to win a championship four times. He then repeated that win in 1997 and 1998 winning six championships in an arrow. In my opinion that is amazing, and an amazing way to apologize his fans, especially returning from a retirement, playing a completely different sport and coming back like he’s been practicing and playing basketball ever since.
After the return, Michael Jordan was an accessible star. He was now known as “Air Jordan” and the greatest salesmen of all time. After being signed with Nike, he single handedly built the empire that Nike is today with his shoe brand, the “Air Jordan’s.” He became a sports icon and that good that even years and years after his retirement, people still see him as an icon, still buying his new shoes in which they still release
