Later Bedtime
Have you ever asked your parents for something you really wanted? Well, I believe I should be awarded an later bedtime than the one I am presented with now. I try my hardest in school, and I get good grades. With a late bedtime, I would be able to complete unfinished work or do assignments I want or need to do. In addition, I would manage to learn more responsibilities and learn better time management. As long as completing things I need to do, I would be able to spend more time with my family.
Additionally, with the new bedtime, the work I didn’t have time for or forgot to do, would be able to be accomplished. Not only would I have the opportunity to work on more work, I would have more time to work on the specific work assigned. If I studied harder and longer, my grades would improve even more. The standard guideline for homework is that students should be spending 10 minutes for every grade they are in. First grade should be 10 minutes, and approximately 80 minutes for eighth-grade students. With more time to work, I could be capable of taking breaks in between different classes. Studies show breaks provide benefits including less procrastination and more focus and efficiency.

Time management techniques are essential to living your life more efficiently. Many people spend their days in a frenzy of activity but achieve very little because they are not concentrating on the right things. By using time management skills, you can learn to determine which of the things you do are important, which can be dropped, use your time in the most effective way possible, break down the roadblocks that waste it, and increase the effectiveness.
Time Management is essential because one must manage their time and employees time while meeting deadlines.
Sleep deprivation leads to serious consequences for academic achievement. Teens who get more sleep are proven to do better. Considering 59% of eighth graders get less than the recommended sleep time, that is not good. According to a psychologist named James Mass, a leading sleep expert “ 95% of teenagers are like walking zombies.” Kids are not going to do their best in school if they are half asleep. Sleep enhances learning, creativity, helps fight infections, fuel growth and balance mood. Without being able to have those abilities students will not be as creative or engaged as they would if they got the recommended sleep time for their age. So to have better academic achievement middle school start times need be later.
High school students should have a later starting time in school due to students not getting the amount of sleep they need to function. Students that stay up late at night are way too tired to learn when they get to school early in the morning. Most students who do stay up late are unable to sleep due to melatonin not yet being produced. This shows that starting school at a later time would have many positive benefits. These benefits include higher test scores, increased attendance, more participation from students, and higher performance from athletes.
For example, students actually perform worse when sleep deprived, dropping grades, and drop the school’s standardized test scores. With later start times children get more sleep, and children that get more sleep are generally prone to have better grades and overall better test scores. With longer sleep times children wake up with more energy and a better outlook on that day’s activities. Children that have later sleep times are proven to want to go back to school every day, and have a better attitude about learning. Children should have later start times, later
Reason one it would give kids more time to sleep so they won’t be tried all the time. Also it gives them enough time to do unfinished school work. “She expects her life will just shift one hour later — from after-school activities to dinner to homework and bed.” On the other hand though it will probably affect people's grades. Then again kids may not take the school serious enough. We need to understand that this whole staying up late is bad for our health.
Managing your time takes a lot of weight off your shoulders and can make you feel very relieved. Time management relieves stress, anxiety, and procrastination. If you manage your time the correct way and do your stuff ahead of time, you won't be able to procrastinate because you already have all of your work done.Time management is the best thing you can do for yourself and your
When students do receive enough sleep they have enhanced performance physically, mentally and academically. A study from the NSF (national sleep foundation) found that students who had a school day starting 1 hour later
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) says that your grades can be worse and you may make more mistakes when you are drowsy or tired. In a recent study at the University of Minnesota two schools changed their start times to 8:30ish. From that change the overall grades at the schools were
Kids would be willing to go to sleep with more sleep. A lot of kids have many things to do after school such as: get homework finished, study for a test or quizzes, go to work, attend church events, and play sports.Students would have more time to get their homework done and more time to study as well as have the chance to have a social life outside of school. In high school tests is a big grade usually in each and every students class but in order for the students to get a high grade on the test they need to have the ability to study but if they are tired from getting up for school so early in the morning they will just want to go to bed and forget about studying and then they will just go to class and just hope they do well enough to pass. In a study by the National Parenting Center when they compared a hundred and fifty high students having high grade point average with their peers with lower grade point averages, most of the higher gpa students woke up later on school days, woke up earlier on the weekend, and had less night time awakenings (“Poor sleep, poor grades”). Having school start early means that the morning classes are early as well and most students today come in late just so they can sleep in a little longer so the morning classes will have less attendance. It will give them more time to get to school on time and not be late and frustrated.
Students now have a chance to sleep an extra hour and catch up on sleep they missed due to staying up late to do doing homework. Teachers can also take advantage of this and grade papers and it also benefits them because students would be more active during class, making the lesson easier for teachers to teach. The only downside of this is that since students know they have extra time to sleep so they will now sleep later since they wake up later making no difference
We should always get time to sleep so we can wake up the next morning not tired and not sleepy. This all depends on school, if school is really long some people have less time to go to sleep. Mostly afterschool some students go to soccer practice or other programs which are often really long. If we shortened school time by an hour students will be able to do their activities or programs with full amount of time. Also the students will get
Overall, pushing the start time back further will be greatly beneficial to the education, health, and wellbeing of teenagers. Getting more sleep will allow students to concentrate better in class, remember things more clearly therefore increasing grades, avoid the unfavorable effects of sleep deprivation, and will cutback on dangerous car accidents caused by fatigued
Before we can manage our time we must know exactly what time is. The dictionary describes it as, the duration of one's life; the hours and days which a person has at his disposal. How we dispose of that time is time management. It's the way we spend our time to organize and execute around our priorities. Remember just because time is intangible doesn't mean that it is not valuable. I want to teach you about the background of time management, the different styles and how to use them, and how it will change your life.
Time management is important because it will improve our decision-making ability, reduce stress, and accomplish more. First and foremost, time management is extremely important in one’s life. Learning how to manage our time will allow us to do more in a shorter period of time. Feeling pressed for time usually makes us jump to conclusions when making a decision; we do not usually consider every option. If we were able to manage our time, when making a decision we would not feel pressed, this allows us to fully consider every option and by doing this your chances of making a bad decision will diminish. Poorly managing your time leads to feeling rushed, needing to do five things makes you feel like it is one hundred. Proper time management allows you to clearly see which tasks will take a certain amount of your time. Since it reduces stress, good time management also leads to accomplishing more. This is because the lack of feeling overwhelmed improves your ability to focus, and therefore allows you to work more efficiently. Schools should teach this at an early age in order for the students to be well versed in it in their lives.
