Thomas Jefferson once said, ¨Time is really the only capital that any human being has and the only thing he can afford to lose¨. What he is saying is that you should use your time wisely. By using your time wisely you can have more free time, feel less stressed, and even get your work done and go to two football games in the same week. Managing your time is the best thing you can do for yourself and your sanity.
By managing your time, you could find out good times for you to have you time while not distracting you too much from the task at hand. For example, once you get assigned the work, you evaluate how long it may take to complete it and break up the work to where you are not doing it all at once. Doing this can take away the stress of not having enough time to complete your work.
You also could use a planner to help you remember when things are due and what you have going on that you need to plan around. Say you play a sport and you have to attend a game on Thursday and you have an essay due on Friday. You could plan ahead and get the essay done on Wednesday so all you have to do Thursday is look over it and then Friday you can turn it in. And if it’s already Thursday, you can work on it before the game, on the way to the game, on the way home from the game, and when you get home. You can turn in your work on Friday and not feel stressed and you can have a good time at the Friday night game.
Managing your time takes a lot of weight off your shoulders and can make you feel very relieved. Time management relieves stress, anxiety, and procrastination. If you manage your time the correct way and do your stuff ahead of time, you won't be able to procrastinate because you already have all of your work done.Time management is the best thing you can do for yourself and your

Many people spend their days in a frenzy of activity but achieve very little because they are not concentrating on the right things. It is true that the majority of the time, people learn to manage their time the proverbial hard way (i.e. working late at night, trial and error, barely meeting deadlines, etc.). The definition of time management can be stated to be the process of both controlling and understanding the time spent on a variety of activities. I have always faced various challenges when it comes to managing my time. Some of the challenges I have are procrastination, knowing my priorities, and getting my priorities in order. I am very easily distracted and distractions are what causes me to procrastinate. I will tell myself that I will do something in five minutes, but then those five minutes go by and I tell myself another five minutes and so on. Putting time off is a way of telling myself that my priorities are not
This will also help you plan your day out more efficiently and keep you on track to what’s coming up. For example if you’re not sure what’s due this week then just look at your agenda that’s why it’s very important you keep it up to date. I have learned that an agenda will keep you more focused because you know exactly to what’s occurring day to day in your studies. It’s also very important to stick with the agenda you make because you made it for a reason and its made for you to stick with so don’t let yourself slip outside of your planned agenda because this will set you up for
Managing time wisely is significant in both school and work. It is necessary to set goals and prioritize. Managing your energy is also important because not even the best plans will work if there is no energy to do them. As you can plan to do your homework after a busy day. However, you might be too tired to concentrate and complete your work. To manage your time you need to first get to know your daily schedule. To do so you can use a table that represents your energy level throughout the day, then making a routine based on when you have the most energy as well as you
Learning how to control your stress level can be effective and make things run a lot smoother. Time management is another area where you can benefit if you are good at it. There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to time management. For example, when you are creating documents for work, make a template. That way you can use it again. Don’t try to do more than you know you are capable of doing. This will make it look like you are not doing your job. Make lists of
From looking at my calendar, I can improve my time management if I try to finish as many assignments as possible early in the day. I need to provide more time in my schedule for starting assignments. I realized when I start my day early, I tend to have more time to work on my tasks, and I get to finish my work earlier. This will give me a greater opportunity, to work on the next day assignments and to be ahead of my schedule. In addition, I can improve my time management by being more specific in my schedule. I must consistently stick to the schedule that I provided ahead of time, and restrict my work to a certain amount of time, so I can have time to do other assignments. From my past experiences, taking a break can reset my mind, and help
Using your time wisely means being effective and efficient. We should spend our time on tasks that are both important and urgent, but always take in consideration to put those tasks that is approaching the due date to do first. To also minimize the stress on your body of getting task done in a rush, avoid procrastination of leaving work that needs to get done for last minute. It’s also important for one to prioritize and to know what’s important from what’s not important, because sometime not every task is important. Make sure to put urgent and important task first before other task that can be done at a later date or time. After you finish doing urgenimportant then you can do the other task that need to get done that’ not considered urgent or important. The difference between an urgent activity and an important activity is that, urgent activity demands your urgent attention and most time it’s related to others but not to you. While important activity does relate to you and can leads to your success in life wither in school or your everyday
Arriving to work early or leaving work late, gives you the chance to catch up on tasks that you haven't gotten done. If possible, get work done when others aren’t around. Try to avoid multitasking, it seems as if you’re getting more done if you do two or three things at once, but you will be focusing on more than needed. If you focus on once job at a time, you will be more productive. Do your part to keep meetings productive, Be on time. Come to the meeting prepared for the topics at hand. Confirm appointments the day before. This will head off problems caused by miscommunications or scheduling conflicts. Give yourself extra time traveling to and from work so that you don’t feel rushed. Try to find a few extra minutes in your schedule each day to organize your thoughts and your things.
Some other techniques I use to help manage my time is staying organized. I have a binder that holds all of papers for my classes, as well as a notebook for each of my classes. This helps me to find what I need in a timely manner and not lose important information. I also use alarms to help me stay organized. If I have something really important I need to go do, I will set an alarm reminding me to be somewhere 20 minutes prior to the event. Staying organized in my opinion can be simple task that save you a lot of time in the long run. Another example is if I have a busy morning I will lay out my clothes the night before, this way I am not scrambling around in the dark trying not to wake my roommate up as I am searching for something to wear.
Time has always been a commodity for me. There were days in my sophomore year where I attended a combo rehearsal at 6:20 in the morning, went to school, showed up for musical rehearsal that lasted two and a half hours, and then drove to an honors band rehearsal for another two hours. Working that much in one day was stressful to say the least, especially since there was no time for me to unwind. While these sixteen hour days were exhausting, they were valuable because they taught me how to manage my time.
SET DEADLINES: Have to read a chapter for History? Need to solve a set of math problems? Make a deadline. For every piece of work you need to complete, set a time limit so you're able to work efficiently. A method I've acquired which works when I've felt like I was going to pass out if I had to do anymore work.
Now that I have identified the problem and its causes, I need a plan to overcome it and rid it away. Being effective at planning my time ,taking responsibility for developing realistic planning by using my knowledge, finding enough time to do extra activities and practice regularly sport to don’t manage my time poorly any more. By actively managing my time I use my time to create more chances to succeed, thinking flexibly on managing my time like balance between time for work and time for fun.
Before we can manage our time we must know exactly what time is. The dictionary describes it as, the duration of one's life; the hours and days which a person has at his disposal. How we dispose of that time is time management. It's the way we spend our time to organize and execute around our priorities. Remember just because time is intangible doesn't mean that it is not valuable. I want to teach you about the background of time management, the different styles and how to use them, and how it will change your life.
The key to getting greater results from your time is effective planning. When faced with a set of tasks most people will dive straight in and start performing the most urgent tasks first, without any planning. Working like this continually results in you becoming very busy and working very hard at chasing your own tail. You can only keep this up for so long before you create dis-ease in your life.
