He donated $25,000 dollars to the American Red Cross to help with the hurricane victims. Kevin also challenged some of his famous friends to donate and help out. It wasn’t Jonathan’s duty to help the ones in need, but gladly he took over that role and that communicates to us of the kind, compassionate person he is. His non-verbal communication reveal more meaning and it created a higher dimension, signifying that he would rescue you and provide a place to stay. People throughout Hurricane Harvey were combating with nature and it was out of their control, but having a strong community that would lend a hand is truly impactful. Jonathan’s team didn’t only provide food and a shelter, but they gave locals secureness that they would live. The communication and connection throughout the flood was immensely useful and took place in many forms. It created waves to reach other locals or nations who help sustain the community in a critical moment, whether by social media, websites, or straight contact. Every communication influenced one way or another. Jonathans’ experience reveals that we are all a chain and we will be connected, or sustained by maintaining to support each other in time of despair. As We watch Hurricane Harvey and Irma ripping through our nation coastline causing billions of dollars of damages. As college students and Americans, I think it's our civic duty to help one another. A bunch of Illinois college student organization has come to together with ideas to help our fellow Americans that are affected by this natural disaster. We would appreciate if the professor would be involved with our service. So, our goal is to raise $250 by students donating their money and if that goal is meet professors who sign up who will have to get their face thrown by pies. Playing sports or even having the knowledge of them can result into happier and more social students. In the video Notebook: Kids and Sports, Katie Couric states, “Playing sports cannot only give kids more confidence, it can also give them more rewarding friendships” (Notebook). This implies that our school can be more successful if we have greater variety of sports kids can join. Although being happier and more social isn't the only benefit of being in sports.
Hurricane Harvey left thousands of people and families in devastation with winds up to 130 mph. Many people like contributed to help raise money for the disaster fund. Famous comedian, Kevin Hart, donated $25,000 to a fund and challenged other celebrities to do the same. He explains to ExtraTv, “It's simply nudging your friends to make an effort to do the same thing that you are doing... We have a platform to use our voices, and I felt that I could raise some money — and it worked.” Kevin incoraged multiple amount of celebrities to donate to the same fund, and the total amount raised was about 1.5million dollars.
It left around 77 people dead and hundreds of people homeless. The JROTC program partnered with State Fair Community College and the community to make hurricane relief packages. Our mission was to collect as many donations as possible to send to Texas. We collected school supplies, medication, clothing, baby supplies, water, and food. The JROTC staff spent a whole day sorting out supplies and packing them into boxes to ship to Texas.
Trevor was just a normal boy that didn't stand out until he changed the lives of countless people, and now people know him from across the world. In the book Pay it Forward, there is a boy in middle school that got assigned a project which turned out to be more than expected when he started changing people's lives. Trevor shows the power of one in the book more than anyone else because he changed the lives of many other people, he cared about people, and he stood up against society.

They promote concentration abilities and leadership traits. Most students in activities outside of school will say that sports help have a goal to have their grades at or to put in extra effort out. Furthermore, sports may not seem like they teach kids about life, but they improve social qualities and the ability to accept winning and losing appropriately. If someone you know wants to improve their kids grades find an extracurricular activity that they are interested and sign them up. It not only improves grades but they can improve friendships and qualities that might be needed when the kids grow
Imagine if you walked into to a school which doesn't have any school sports. What would the impact be? Sports can refine and comprise weight control, problem solving, self-esteem, social competence, and academic achievement. The school district should fund sports for schools because it gives kids confidence, scholarship, and doing multifarious sports seems to have an affirmative affect on grades. School sports give kids confidence, builds their character which is very helpful to young people, and rewarding friendships.
“Playing sports is fun. It gives your child something to do and a group to belong to. They have a group of friends that has the same goals and interests.” (McIntyre). Second, it will help get better grades.
Another reason Watt is a role model to me is because he plays football. I hope to play football when I get older. J.J. Watt plays in the NFL.
