When a disaster strikes and it is so sever that the local governments and the State governments together cannot provide the needed resources, the federal government then becomes the source for resources. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is the Federal agency that coordinates the activation of the Federal Response Plan (FRP). However, due to past hurricanes and incidents, the response of FEMA has demonstrated that the government is not prepared to defend the US population as a whole. As demonstrated on Wednesday October 19, 2005, Hurricane Wilma intensified into a Category 5 hurricane within a 24 hours time frame. Hurricane Wilma produced sustained winds of over 173 miles per hour and with the atmospheric pressure of 882 millibars,

As a Houston based law firm with deep ties to the community, we have been devastated to witness the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey. While the stories of heroic rescues and the kindness of strangers make us beam with pride at the magnanimity of our great City, we grieve over the unimaginable toll this hurricane has already taken on our friends, clients, neighbors, and colleagues.
Many hurricanes that have hit landfall were very dangerous to people, the environment and the economy. Hurricane Harvey took more than 72 lives in Texas alone. Shortly after, Hurricane Irma took the lives of 30 plus lives in the path of her destruction in just the United States, along with the 24 plus in the Caribbean. The wind speeds of up to 160 miles per hour and the water from the hurricane caused major damage to homes, cars, streets and buildings. The wind caused many homes, cars and buildings to blow over, rip off roofs and siding. The strong wind gusts also blew over many trees. With the torrential amounts of rainfall that came through the area, flooding came through shortly after throughout areas in Texas, Louisiana and Florida.

The article, The science behind Hurricane Mathew’s unexpected course change shows that Hurricane Matthew occurred on the first week of October in 2016 and hit Haiti-North Carolina. The article I read was about was mainly about, how Hurricane Matthew affected community’s, states, people, and animals and how this was all started. According to my article, this event occurred when warm ocean water in the Atlantic ocean, Caribbean sea, and Gulf of Mexico mixed with enough moist air to create a tropical storm then a variation of wind speed and direction (a wind shear) hit the ground which made Hurricane Matthew form. Based
No one knows what I went through; you were not in shoes during hurricane Maria. I was at my father's at house. I was sleeping in my room with my dog. First, I heard the wind going “Woosh! Woosh!.” When I woke up Maria was already here! Unexpectedly, my house got flooded. During the flooding, I had to grabbed the mop while my father went to grabbing towels to try and dry the water. I was worried about mother and sibling since I could not contact them. Eventually, I felt as if my house was a prison since there was not anything to do.
Hurricane Harvey effected all of us. Whether you live in New York or downtown Houston, it hit us all. Hurricane Harvey was one of the few storms to strike American to the core. All of the country public support was very prevalent from the beginning. Food, clothing, water, money, and general happiness; Americans all over the world gave back to those who were effected by theses monstrous storms.
As we all know is that hurricane Irma has been a catastrophe for most people. People have lost their homes, amongst other losses. During these devastating times people are still praising The Heavenly Father for His love and protection. Irma has hit many places in the world where people are giving God thanks, places such as Antigua where the Prime Minister Gaston Browne was giving God thanks on behalf of the whole country. “Thank God for his mercies and blessings. He has protected and spared us from the worst of Irma, he said. In the midst of Hurricane Irma, people are coming together in unity from different races and backgrounds to assist one another and to restore what was lost. Despite the enemy who’s always trying to cause division, the
Last week Hurricane Harvey hit Texas! No one expected this storm to be so severe. Hurricane Harvey was one of the worst, most damaging hurricanes Texas has ever experienced. The damage from Harvey was very extensive. Harvey left millions of people without homes to come back to, cars were washed away, and people went missing and some died. People from different states came all the way to Texas and risked their lives to helped strangers when they didn’t have to.
The devastating effects of Hurricane Irma have become clear as a massive clean-up begins in the southwest of America. Large areas were underwater and power was out. streets were blocked by grounded boats, fallen trees and damaged cars after the deadly tropical storm.
Hurricane Katrina struck the city of New Orleans, Louisiana on August 29th, 2005. The events that followed would leave the whole nation in shock until this day. One of the major topics of discussion after this disaster was whether or not the government's slow reaction time had anything to do with the fact that New Orleans is sixty-seven percent African American. As helicopters circled a wasteland that was once a major tourist attraction, the racism of the Deep South, thought to be extinct, proved it was only dormant. The same racism against African Americans that could be seen on Bourbon Street in the months prior to the hurricane reared its ugly head once more in Gretna, LA and was pointed out on live television by rapper Kanye West.
Unfortunately there are several economic consequences of Hurricane Irma. Two significant unanticipated consequences of Hurricane Irma, in my opinion, would have to be the degree of destruction left in Irma’s wake through the Caribbean and the sudden slowing down of Irma over the Cuban coast before turning and making landfall in the United States.
Hurricane Katrina was a disaster. It killed many people and animals, cost lots of money and many people lost their homes. Katrina formed in August 23, 2005. Imagine if you were in a hurricane like that or any hurricane. You can’t feel the same feeling the people felt in the hurricane unless you were in one yourself. Just think about it destroying everything in its path, killing people and animals.
