“Last call for flight 403, flight 403.” My trip started off with a sprint to our gate. My aunt, cousins, and I made it to our plane as they were closing the doors. Thank God we were all runners because if we would have made it there a few seconds later, we would have missed our flight. I sat next to my cousin, Nicole, and we were about to fly into an unforgettable trip.
My aunt, cousins, and I were going to Colorado! We met my Aunt Charlene’s boyfriend, Mike, at the airport in Colorado. We went to his parent’s house to stay for the night, We played with their games for hours. We also watched some movies and fell asleep.
The next day, after breakfast, we drove to Boulder, Colorado. It was about a three hour drive. We made many stops at malls

We went canoeing for a little while. Nicole and I were in the same canoe. My other cousin, Natalie and Mike were on the same team. We had a race to see who can get from one side of the lake to the other. Nicole and I were winning until they tipped our canoe over. We fell into the ice cold water and could not get back onto the canoe without falling again. We got out of the lake and our shoes were all covered in seaweed and other unpleasant things. Later, we went white water rafting. This was my personal favorite event out of my entire trip. My cousin Nicole and I sat in the front of the raft. These two seats were the ones that obtained the most splash. During the one to two hour of rafting, we were attacked by giant waves. Every few minutes, we would be bulldozed with the freezing water. It was so intense because there were many small waterfalls. We almost fell off the raft!! By the end of our adventure, we were soaked. This event drained all our energy out. We went to our hotel and ate at an Italian restaurant. Our hotel had five king size beds, perfect because all of us got one. We slept like pigs throughout the whole …show more content…
We went on a four and a half mile bike ride. It was all fun in games until we reached our second mile. The rest of our bike ride was filled with hills. Everything was uphill from now. Our legs felt like jello. After the long journey, we returned our bikes and drove to Aspen, Colorado. A bus took us to the start of the hikes and takes us back to the lobby area. It was about a nine mile drive. At the beginning of the hike, you get an option of whether you want to take the scenery hike or the crater hike. Of course, Mike makes us go through the crater one. We had to hike up that mountain filled with huge rocks and streams. It was one of the hardest things to do in my life because not only was I tripping over the rocks and branches, but there were giant poisonous spiders hiding everywhere. It took us about an hour and thirty minutes to reach the top. We lost track of time and we had to get back to the bus in 40 minutes or else it will leave without us and we would have to walk 9 miles back to the car. We practically ran down that mountain. Of course, my little cousin trips from behind me and we slid into the stream. I am not going to lie, that cold water felt really good, but we were soaked. I ran the rest of the way down with heavy, squishy shoes. I did not think it was possible to run that fast for so long, but somehow we mastered
At 4:38pm Flash Airlines flight 604 was cleared to taxi to runway 22R for departure. It was an evening flight and the weather was perfect. Visibility was excellent and everything indicated it was going to be another routine flight. However, on January 3rd, 2004 it was anything but routine.
Flight 4184 could have been avoided had the aircraft been at a higher altitude, the pilots could have recovered. But with no knowledge of the type of ice it was accumulating or the type of weather the ice can be found in the pilots were unaware of the serious danger they were in. Since this accident new regulations have been enforced as well as airline companies who use the ATR 42 and 72 have since moved the operation of these planes to warmer climates where icing is less likely to occur. New training practices for pilots to recognize different types of icing conditions have been implemented.
Once we got to San Antonio we got lost for about 15 minutes because of a road contruction. It was fun with my girls we were singing, talking about there school and we saw diffrent park attractions and all kinds of other places. Finally at around 11:30 a.m we got to Harlingen, Texas at my sisters house safe and sound. But that didn't stop us , once we got there we just picked up my sister and my nephew and we headed to the beach of South Padre Island. We were almost there because you can start to smell the fresh salt water and see the big 2 mile stretch of the bridge. Once we arrived we parked right by the water on the sand. My girls just got off my car and started running towards the waves of water. Me and my sister watched while my nephew and my girls were splashing in the water. We really enjoyed that day. We had a barbeque and played volley ball, relaxed on top of a float in the
On July 19, 1989, United Airlines, Flight 232, a McDonnell-Douglas DC-10 experienced a catastrophic failure of the No. 2 tail-mounted engine during cruise flight. The separation, fragmentation, and forceful discharge of stage 1 fan rotor assembly parts from the No. 2 engine led to the loss of the three hydraulic systems that powered the airplane's flight controls. The flight crew experienced severe difficulties controlling the airplane, which subsequently crashed during an attempted landing at Sioux Gateway Airport, Iowa. 111 people were fatally injured (NTSB, 1991).
A private sixteen day Whitewater Rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. There were fourteen of us in all, including some family friends that we’ve been rafting with since I was seven years old, my sister, and my mom. We rented six eighteen foot rafts. Each raft was equipped with all of the necessary food, supplies and gear for a sixteen day river trip. Despite the heat, our group had several seasoned Grand Canyon guides in attendance and they knew all of the greatest side hikes. One such side hike was called Elves Chasm. It was day five. The heat was sweltering and our group pulled over to ascend to the Chasm. Even with all these new adventures my desire to go higher and make more of it was mind-boggling. I was also trying to get a good photo. I didn’t realize it, but there was an upper Chasm and I headed up over hot rocks and then onto my belly to wriggle my way through a tight small space to ascend higher up into the chasm. The next waterfall was stunning. Some of the other young adults on the trip followed and we delighted in our discovery. We jumped from a high rock into the pool below, and one of us even did it
We finally made it to Salt Lake City. The plane ride was a long few hours of listening to music and watching all of my DVDs. All I wanted was to make it to Idaho Falls so I could sleep. My mom was going to rent a car and we would drive out to my grandma's house where we would be staying for the week.
I went to colorado with my family, my mom, dad, sister, little brother, and my dog Brody. We all decided to go on a hiking trail,
In March of 2014 my family went on vacation with my aunt and uncle to Puerto Rico. While we were there we went to a rainforest called El Yunque. El Yunque is a rainforest where people can go hike and there is a really nice waterfall on the way to the top. To get there on time and have time to do other activities we had to wake up very early. We were all really tired on the way to the mountain. We had to drive really high before we could start the actual climb. When we got there was a small waterfall and we climbed on it for a picture. Then we started walking on the trail.
Seventh on my list is the Tudor Star Tiger which left Santa Maria Azores Airport on January 30, 1948 with 25 passengers aboard the British Airliner. The radio operator received coordinates from the plane and it was agreed the time of arrival should be about 5 AM. The
Denver was beautiful, we drove to our ski resort and it started to snow. I live in texas so seeing it snow made me so ecstatic. Me and my sister wrapped ourselves in blankets, turned on the fireplace and at there looking at the snow and hearing the fire crackle. We woke bright in the morning, to put on our gear. Me and my sister raced to the ski lift. After someone taught us how to ski, we got on our board and just skied it was so much fun. It was lunchtime and we went to a restaurant that was the best at cooking shellfish. We went in and saw a employer that barfed we taught it was nothing so we just went inside to enjoy our time. My dad and my mom got lobster with garlic bread. Me and my sister got oysters, crab, and shrimp. We all shared what we got and we were super
On day my grandma came and got me and my sister and took us to the airport in Indianapolis. We had talked about this for a very long. When we got to the airport we got our tickets and got on the first plane to Minnesota. That plane ride was an hour long. We we got to the airport in Minnesota we had a 4 hour layover, so we just ate while we were there. When we finally got onto the plane we flew to Las Vegas, and from there we drove to california.
My friends and I had just finished one of our summer soccer practice workouts. We were all drenched in sweat as it was a hot summer day, and there was no shade at the school where we had practice at. My one friend Liam suggested that we go to a rope swing randomly, and ironically I knew of a place not to far from where we lived that had one. So Liam and I went since the rest did not want to go. We soon arrived at the rope swing. I made him swim out to the middle of the creek to get the rope. He commented on how cold the creek was, and brought the rope to the shore. There is a dead tree that extends out over the creek that I climbed up with the rope in hand. I went to the very end of the dead tree then jumped. I swung out over the creek and let go of the rope. I then hit the water. I was instantly paralyzed by the sheer coldness of the water. After I swam back to shore we left because neither of us wanted to go back in the ice water. So we went to my Liam’s uncle’s restaurant for ice cream then went home after that.
One summer my family and I went to Texas to visit family. All of it was fun, going to the beach, indoor and outdoor pools, and cool restaurants. The best thing was when we went to a huge waterpark called Schlitterbahn. At the waterpark we went down some water slides, then we tricked my grandma to take a picture under the big bucket that dumps water. Right after we took picture the water dumped on her.
My best experience was meeting up with my cousins in Minneapolis. That was the best weekend I could ever ask for. Our moms surprised us by letting us leave school early and go to a hotel to meet up with each other. It was a girls weekend there were no boys aloud. Swimming, shopping, and going out to eat were the first few things on our bucket list that we made when we got there. Unloading the van was the first thing we did. Us younger girls Ellie, Abby, Madison, LeAnn, and me shared on room and the parents got the other room. One of the rooms had a hot tub and jets. The other room only had a normal shower. We went out to eat the first night we were there because we were all so happy to see each other and get to hang out. We went to Emacrumbies to eat supper, and I got a stuffed animal that now is my favorite stuffed animal.
Last spring my cousins came skiing with us. They also came the spring before that and we had a bunch of fun. But what we did on this trip was the craziest thing I have ever done.
