Essay On The Four Pillars Of National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is based off of four pillars: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. In order to be an ideal member of NHS, one must demonstrate these qualities efficiently at all times. How do I exhibit these four pillars? I do so by practicing each one on a daily basis and by improving them every single minute. My willpower, consideration of others, and goal of being the best all exemplify my ability to perform the four pillars. Each one is dealt with differently in my life.

Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new

On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.

Leadership is defined as the position of a leader, the ability to lead. I assure you it is much more then that. Being a leader is not easy, I have learned from personal experience. Being a captain of a football team is hard work. It takes guts to stand up and be a leader.

The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization designed to help students gain endless, lifelong opportunities. I am absolutely honored to be considered as an applicant to become a member of NHS. Since I arrived at this campus, I have admired the members of NHS and have observed their achievements in hope that one day I can reach their success.

Service is one of the essential pillars of the National Honor Society. While a member of the National Honor Society I have participated in many projects that have changed the way I see the world. While volunteering I have met many fascinating individuals that have different stories. Stories that have influenced my future goals to help and show kindness to everyone. While volunteering at Care one I have met multiple people who always have a smile on their face no matter how bad or good their day is going. Therefore the most significant moment that has impacted me is one story in particular. During the weekend I volunteer with an elderly woman. She is kind, friendly and has the biggest smile. Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character are the four pillars of National Honor Society(NHS) and are all qualities that I posses. Ever since I was young I have looked up to those who were members of National Honor Society because I always believed that they were the true definition of an exceptional person. Being in National Honor Society has been what I have strived for through my middle and high school years. I am honored to be a candidate for this wonderful program and throughout this essay I hope you are able to learn more about me and why I am a good fit for National Honor Society.

I am excited to be considered as a candidate for National Honor Society (NHS). Through friends and family, I know the main characteristics a NHS member must hold include scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Through hard work, I have been able to hold a GPA over 3.8 in both 9th and 10th grade; this shows my strong dedication to scholarship. I am a dedicated person who enjoys giving back to the community; I have participated in many volunteer activities, and I would love the opportunity to continue my volunteer work as a NHS member. If I am given the privilege of NHS membership, I will continue to uphold my commitment to service and leadership.

The four pillars of National Honor Society have shaped who I am today in numerous ways. Firstly, the pillar of scholarship is much more than just getting straight A’s. It inspires me to learn new things and continue gaining knowledge every day while creating a motivation to take challenging classes and work harder to achieve higher grades. Academics are important because they prepare us for our future careers and act as a pathway to success. Moreover, service proves to be another important pier. I love helping people and take pride in doing so. I’ve put in countless hours working on projects for band, choir, church, school, and the community. Ultimately, volunteering has helped spark my love for others and developed a more compassionate personality.

The pillars of National Honor Society, scholarship, leadership, service and character, are the foundation upon which each chapter and its’ members strive to better their community and school. Service is what creates the National Honor Society, the actions of one done in order to help others or the community without any monetary or material compensation. Scholarship, the commitment and desire to learn; leadership, the initiative to take action in order to create results for a group of individuals; and character, the distinction that sets an individual apart from others, are the defining criteria of members. Striving to push myself, and work hard in ways that will benefit others is a key principle in my life. Due to this, I am thrilled to be applying for Rocky Mountain’s National Honor Society. In full disclosure, the prestige and scholarship opportunities greatly attract me to NHS. However, there are reasons beyond this as well. I am excited to be a member among a group of students who will encourage me to make the most of my last years in high school, and to better my post-secondary education. I find value in involving myself in my community, whether it is at church, or at school, and NHS is a fantastic way for me to be involved.

My personal development has been molded by many people and things, yet the four pillars of National Honor Society have exceeded all other influences in their potency. Scholarship, service, leadership, and character— each pillar engenders its own unique form of impact upon me. Furthermore, the foundation of my future goals harmonizes seamlessly with the pillars; I shall strive toward success by applying them throughout my life.

After getting the option to apply for a membership position in the National Honor Society making the decision to follow through with the application process was a simple one. The plethora of advantages the membership would provide for my education, community and character seemed well worth all that was required in the application process. The four pillars scholarship, leadership, character and service are what makes the members and the organization so successful. Scholarship, the academic study or achievement and the first of the four core values of NHS. Throughout my years so far in high school I have done my best to achieve proficient grades in all my classes.

Looking at the four pillars of National Honor Society, I am definitely stronger in some pillars over others. However, between scholarship, service, leadership, and character, I represent each pillar in one way or another. In the future, I plan to continue to grow in each of these pillars.

First off I would like to say how much of an honor it is to be considered for National Honors Society. National Honors Society is an outstanding group that would honor to be part of. National Honors Society has four major principles, scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I believe that I would represent these four categories very well.
