Chile is known as a long narrow continent located on the edge of the South American edge. in 1954 Santiago became the capital . The reason I chose this particular Spanish speaking county because I found it interesting in so many different ways as the culture differences and the weather differences. This country extends from north and south which have an excessive climate differences. Such as in the north it lacks rainfall which causes the environment to hold water. Not only does it lack rainfall but it also has very dry and hot summers and cool winters.
There are plenty of attraction and tradition that Chile provides to tourist and visitors. One known tradition is Fiestas Patrias which is an independence Festival. The Fiestas is held on the 18 and 19 of every September to celebrate the first assembly of the government in 1810. These certain festivities are only celebrated in the rural areas of Central Chile. During the Quasimodo festivities a priest conduct communion for the elderly and the sick by decorating floats. The Chilean rodeo consists of a group of riders named the acollera whose main objective is to pin a steer by backing it up into a medialuna (half-moon shaped corral). The way the game is scored is by the amount of times they can properly pin the steer, points are lost for poor form in the process. The Chilean rodeo begun during the Spanish conquest of Chile in the early sixteenth century. Back in the day, cattle were not properly gathered and became easily lost so owners would gather them and brand them to keep track of how many they had.
