Journal number one is about the pre-planning and the execution of the killings. Dylan and Eric murdered half of the school at the massacre of columbine. They were crazy. They had been planning for about a year so they were very well organized and had it planned very well. The bombs didn't go off that they had set, but if they had they would have killed everyone in the school. Including themselves. The two boys murdered everyone they had their chance too, besides their friends.

Journal number two is about the police and the media. The police and media didn't really know everything that was going on inside, but were making up fake news like CNN. They made up rumors that were not true, just to get a good report on what exactly was happening. They were having issues because the people coming out of the school were countering all of their arguments.

The boys needed a savior. They didn't know any other way out so they took matters into their own hands. I really don't know how to do this journal so i'm kinda just winging it if you can't tell by what i'm saying in this paragraph.

Psychopathy is an issue that people tend to look over, until it turns violent. Psychopaths find their joy in violence. Psychopaths are happy when people are getting hurt, but are very manipulative and can seem sweet at times. Eric was a psychopath, he seemed sweet-faced until the day he went crazy. Sociopathy is different. Sociopaths are very shy, sometimes angry but don't like to hurt people. Sociopaths are hurting inside more than hurting others.
Journal #5
Lawsuits are running rampant at this point in time due to the actions of Dylan and Eric. There are people dead, people severely hurt, and people who are fine. There are grieving family members, which are all in the hands of Eric and Dylan.

If Robyn hadn’t bought the guns for them; Dylan and Eric might of not been able to get their hands on other guns. Or if Robyn would have told someone about her suspicious thoughts about the guns; the police might have looked into and found their notes plotting to blow up the school. The boys then would have been arrested and the massacre would have never happened. Cullen shows through the characterization of Robyn Anderson, the importance of addressing suspicions and how it could have completely changed the fetal
Columbine Journal Chapters 1-19 The police should have helped the students and teachers that were hit. They could have possibly been still alive, or at least able to save. The S.W.A.T team should have went inside the school as soon as they arrived on campus, but instead they waited outside and let the kids get murdered. According to the documentary, one man said the police were at the school way before everyone actually mentions, and the man says that the police had every opportunity to go into the school and safely remove students, but the police did not go in the school for whatever reason.
This investigation will explore the question: “Why did Columbine happen and what can be learned from it?”. This investigation focuses on the events that took place in the columbine massacre, the two boys that committed the tragedy and why, and how to prevent school shootings like this from happening again. The majority of this evidence is derived from articles, books,
Terror, shock, desperateness, all feelings of the Columbine victims. Through the narration of the encounter between Patti Nielson and the shooters during the beginning moments of the Columbine shooting in chapter 11 of Columbine, a memoir, Dave Cullen adopts an informative tone in order to focus young adults’ attention to the ruthlessness of the Columbine shooting.
It was 11:19 am when the first set of gunshots pierced through the walls of Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. In 49 short minutes, two high school seniors, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered 12 students and 1 teacher, and then killed themselves. Months prior, the pair planned out the attacks in a series of journal entries and video diaries. The attack at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999 raised many questions; the biggest one being, why did they do it? While the common media misconception is that the Columbine shooting was a war against jocks and outcasts, the shooting was actually perpetuated by psychopathy and depression in the shooters.
The tragic story of Columbine by Dave Cullen analysis’ the bitter events that were caused by Eric Klebold and Dylan Harris. Although tough to read, the description and imagery within the book about the intense news reports, the role both boys played, and the somber realization of a inspirational marter story furthers the reader's understanding of the truth. Cullen wrote with the purpose to develop each character while going in depth to tell the truth and dispel any rumors that were connected to the tragic 1999 massacre.
April 20, 1999, is a day of remembrance for many people. The Columbine massacre had an effect not only on the Littleton, Colorado community but also on the entire country. In the book Columbine by Dave Cullen, the author tells the story of the tragedy that started with Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. The book begins with an introduction into both Eric and Dylan's thoughts, actions, and reasoning behind their plan to attack their high school. Throughout the book the author points out how the media gave a different view for the motives of the attack which caused false accusations towards the killers. This book tells the truth told from survivors and evidence, but the honest truth behind the attack went to the grave with Eric and
Moore situates to learn about the reason behind the massacre of 12 individuals at the Columbine High School on April 20,1999. He details how Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had the access to firearms in which they had a record of arrests, juvenile detention, and drug usage.
The book I chose to read was Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, the story is about a 17 year old boy named Peter Houghton who decided to shoot up his school in nineteen minutes. The reason why the author decided to write about a school shooting is because listening to her own childrens struggle with bullying and trying to fit in led her to write about the topic of a school shooting. The book goes between the past and the present leading up to why Peter decided to shoot up the school. Peter had a distant relationship between his parents who didn’t show any attention to him ever since his older brother Joey died in a car accident. What led up to Peter deciding to shoot up the school is the countless bullying he had to suffer since Kindergarten
The first myth about Columbine is that Eric and Dylan were outcasts. In fact, they boys acted like normal people. They attended school events and talked to people like normal human beings. They blended in with the rest of the school, which didn’t strike an alarm that soon enough these boys would be a part of a terrible shooting. Although people were wrong about the boys being outcasts, they were right that something was wrong in their head. Unfortunately, they spotted this too late, Eric and Dylan thought they were better than everyone else. While the rest of the world thought they were a little
On April 20th of the year 1999, two high school students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, went armed into Columbine High School with guns, knives, and a multitude of bombs. The result was the slaughter of twelve students and one teacher. The gunners also turned the guns
They savagely murder thirteen high school students and staff, and before ending their own lives in the library, injure many more such as Patrick Ireland, who was shot in the head yet somehow, clinging to life, managed to survive and graduate as valedictorian the next year. Cassie Bernall, one of the Columbine students who was murdered by Dylan Klebold, was long regarded as a martyr, yet it was actually another high school student, Columbine survivor Valeen Schnurr, was the one who was actually asked if she believed in God by Dylan. When Valeen said yes, she was shot by Dylan and survived, later telling her story to others. Coach Dave Sanders, who was shot during the initial attack, survived for a few hours before succumbing to blood loss. His family sued the police as it was shown he could’ve been saved by S.W.A.T but wasn’t.
Enough school shootings have happened over the years to properly pin down the series of events that occur. Through the first chapter of his extended
Eric and Dylan honed their shooting skills at a make shift firing range in the mountains. They practiced shooting their weapons there away from the public and used the schools video equipment to record their actions. They talked about the damage that the bullets would cause to the person that they hit. Their intentions were to kill and injure as many people as possible putting a hit on everyone that they saw.
The killers had meticulously calculated exact timing for every action they took that morning. Eric and Dylan’s initial plan, intended to kill hundreds of people, involved multiple bombs. They planned to shoot only those who survived the bombings. The first bomb they planted was a decoy, which was put in a field with other smaller bombs. It was set to go off at 11:14 a.m. Following this, they headed to the high school to plant two more bombs in the cafeteria, set to go off at 11:17. In addition, both of the boys’ cars were loaded with bombs and gasoline. At noon, these bombs were supposed to detonate. As the boys went into the school to plant the bombs, each had guns and pipe bombs in his backpack. However, none of the large bombs went off; only the pipe bombs in the field. By 11:19, Eric and Dylan figured out that the bombs had failed.
