While Gambling is legal in The United States, each state has their own decision to regulate or prevent play it. From this, we can define that gambling is not an essential revenue in the U.S. On the other hand, some have a perspective about gambling as it is a huge tool to grow the economy. For example, Las Vegas is a big market of casinos, in 2016 it raised the revenues with more than 10.7 billion (The Statistic Portal, 2017).

Gambling is the activity or practice of playing a game of chance for money or other stakes. Activities that are considered gambling are betting on sports and races, lotteries, card games like blackjack and poker, and casino games like slots and roulette. Bingo and raffles are technically gambling, but there are no major concerns about them, so they are not included here. Though gambling is legal within many states, it is does not make it right for people to engage in such activities. This is especially important, since gambling among college students is constantly growing with the rise of internet-based gambling. According to Carmen Messerlian more than ever, the opportunity to be exposed and to engage in gambling activities for students is present. This is of particular concern, due to the fact that college student develop gambling problems at about twice the rate of other adults.
