Chuck Foreman was one of the premier runners in the 70's. He was one of the most elusive and best all-purpose runners in NFL history. From 1974-1976, O.J. Simpson and Chuck Foreman were considered the 2 best runners in the NFL. From 1974-1977, Chuck scored 60 touchdowns. He had 6 productive seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and didn't play much his last season in Minnesota and New England. Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame? Is it because his Viking teams lost 3 Super Bowls? He was an outstanding runner and probably the best ever pass-catching running back in Pro Football. That's consistency and impeccable stats for anyone. In 1975, his best season, Chuck led the NFL in receiving with 73 catches and led the NFC in touchdowns with 22- tying Gale Sayers' record from a decade before. This iconic hero just missed the NFC's version of the Triple Crown. He was the NFC's leading receiver and the NFC's leading touchdown scorer. Chuck was also the NFC's leading scorer with 132 points and the NFL's 2nd leading scorer. He was the NFC's 2nd leading rusher with 1,070 yards and missed out on the NFC's rushing title by 7 yards. Unfortunately, the Vikings used Chuck too much with all those carries and pass receptions and he was physically burned out after the 1978 season when he was only 28 years old. It happened to all-time great runners Larry Brown and Earl Campbell. Chuck Foreman was a legend and as time has gone by, this all-time great runner has become a distant memory and a lost treasure. He has waited 30 years and he's still not in Canton. His versatility and God-given talents set him apart from most other runners.
