"Attention!" Webb City's JROTC bellowed as the audience rose to salute the flag in honor of a very special occasion: Webb City High School's first annual Veteran's Day assembly. The room was filled high with respect and camaraderie for the individuals that were in attendance because of their valiant sacrifices in service. For nearly a month and a half, Assistant Principal Stephanie Heman, with assistance from student council members, put together the assembly. From keynote speakers, flyers, accommodations, and seating, all the effort paid off when the gleaming faces of veterans in attendance filled the audience. The Cardinal Pride band played a series of tributes to the audience which received them with an abundance of applause; to conclude

“Leadership in Service” are the watchwords of the Vigil Honor, the highest level of membership in the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society. Following nomination, a candidate for the Vigil Honor must undergo a solemn and secretive ceremony at a Scout camp in the pine woods of Bastrop, Texas. I, too, have kept the Vigil, and I will never forget it.
The flag raisers were all young they were from in eighteen to early twenties. As World War II continued, these men and their families knew the that they may
I hope that my speech has shed some light on the bulldog breed. Their history, unique features, and random facts, and I wish that you have all learnt something new about them today. Thankyou for you're time."

vetrans day is about commemorating vetrans. when our school district holds an assembly in their honor, it lets them know that they are remebered and still thanked for their services. having all these students come together shows they are respected. when we listen to them speak we validate their experiences in war, and how they gave time of their lives.
To close off the installation ceremony, Ms. Fern Bren, the Assistant Principal of Pupil Personnel Services, gave a moving speech to all the students and thanked everyone for coming and thanked Ms. Filomena Daniels, the Arista/Archon Coordinator and even gave her a bouquet of flowers. Welcome to New Haven Middle School’s Veterans Day Assembly. A lot of people think it’s just another assembly that you go to and just listen to people talk, but it’s more than just that. It’s about honoring our loved ones and the fallen ones, the ones who came back injured or scarred for life. We go to airports and gym’s where a meeting s held to welcome home our soldiers. Some kids ask their parents or someone they know about who gives us our freedom. All they have to say is someone who fights for our country. Freedom is NOT free. It may seem free because certain people are out fighting to protect us and our country. Some people throw a party or a huge welcome home gathering or make tons of signs to show their thanks. I’m sure they love it but I’m also sure all they would want is a simple thank you.
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude and the veterans deserve to have gratitude from others. The reason why I am grateful for our nation’s veterans is because without them we would not have peace and freedom in our country. Another reason why I am grateful for our nation’s veterans is because they have fought for us to have a good society instead of a corrupted one. After the veterans return from war they don’t change on how the treat people and not expect anything in return and that is why I am grateful. The nation’s veterans deserve to be celebrated and commemorated for their efforts and sacrifices.
It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our
The men and women who helped shape the face of this country through their honor, legacy, and patriotism are those we call veterans. They are our dads, moms, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters; they are our family. Yet, we constantly overlook their desire and passion for this country. The gratitude that they deserve is not shown towards them, as it should be. I thank all veterans for their
Sophomore year of marching came. This year was a surprise for everyone. With our show being named ‘Masterminder.’ The band members marching were under control by the color guard soloist; the puppeteer. This show was pretty exciting, too. The judges also thought that. We made it past regionals AND semi-state. What? Yeah, we all thought the same thing. We had made it. We had FINALLY made it after so many years of just trying to get past regionals for once. It was a bitter-sweet feeling waiting for placement awards at Lucas Oil Stadium. The instructors went around to each band student one by one. The congratulated us on an amazing season. I started tearing up, but that isn’t surprising. As we marched our way out of Lucas Oil Stadium that night, I knew that this was only the beginning of a new generation for the Marching Marksmen.
