Throughout my four years at the Bethel Park High School, I have represented myself as a strong leader. I never focused myself on just one aspect of leadership. To start, I have worked very hard to be considered as a captain of the cross country team, I currently hold the position of treasurer of the Journalism Club, and I am the head of a committee for the Principal Advisory Committee of Students. Being a leader in not something that I could learn from a textbook, it is a skill learned through my countless experiences. My current jobs that I hold give me great opportunities to prove my leadership skills. One of the most difficult is my referee job, which forces me to take the lead over coaches, players, and parents.
As well as valuing being
I have best demonstrated my leadership ability on my schools track and field team. When I first joined the team my freshman year, I never thought I would develop a leadership role on the team. As a rookie to the sport, my only focus was performing my best and having fun; developing a leadership role never crossed my mind. It was my sophomore year that I developed a sense of leadership. As I was now a returner, I now
I have been the president of my school’s Junior Civitian club for 2 years now and I was color guard caption for two years also. I have learned how to become a leader. I also went to Girl State where I learned how to become a better leader. Becoming a leader is challenging, especially in high school, when you want to do what everyone else is doing. I have learned that being a leader you should be fair and treat people as if they are your peers and not lower than you are. As a leader I am the first person their and the last person to leave. I also have made myself available to the people in Junior Civitan and the people on the color guard team. I also have an ambitious attitude, as should ever leader. I will always try to keep everyone cheerful

In this essay I will discuss characteristic that describe a good leader, and what I want to see change in my community. .
It is hard to get people to follow you, but an outstanding leader has no problem convincing their teammates to follow their actions. Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, Dance, Cheer and Track have all given me leadership experience. During sports you always need a leader directing you in the right direction. I have learned to fill that role by always encouraging my teammates and try to keep the environment positive. I have attended the FFA Leadership Conference twice now and I have learned to never give up and always put one hundred percent effort into everything I do. I have also paged at the Topeka Capital and in doing that I've learned to always be professional and that getting out of your comfort zone can lead to good things. Another place I feel I have been a leader in is the classroom, not only
I have shown leadership throughout my time at Lincoln High School. When I was a trumpet section leader, I had to encourage the section to try their hardest and not give up halfway through the day. When our band director told us to run to our spots, I ran to my spot and encourage others that were lagging behind to hurry up. As a trumpet section leader, I encouraged others to memorize their music by being one of the first to complete all my music memorization tests. I show academic leadership by completing my assignments early.
I have exemplified leadership in a couple different ways through out my high school career. One way of this is through leading my team members in cheerleading. I look out for my new team members, especially since they are learning a lot of new material. This can be stressful and difficult at times. I know this feeling since I was once brand new to the Mason Cheerleading Program and didn’t know any of the material. If I
I have demonstrated leadership throughout high in being in top 10%, a member of National Honor Society, Technology Student Association (TSA), and a member of multiple varsity teams. I have illustrated that not only can you be successful in your academics but also in your extracurricular activities. I have advanced to state in TSA and in the 2014 marching band. I have shown leadership by illustrating what to do to succeed. However, the area where I have demonstrated the most leadership is on the football field.
What is a leader? According to webster it's the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. In most cases this is rather true and in ours it is the exact same yet there's so many underlying themes to what a leader is truly. When June rolls around i'll be preparing to represent Highland Park as a youth delegate leader in Washington DC for a summit on leadership . Ill learn a lot here and it ties into how effective a leader is and what a leader should do, but how does it relate to this? Its key to have a person in a leadership to have an understanding on how to lead a group of people as well as be dedicated to pushing positive into the organization, in this case colorguard. I'd love to write a ten page essay on all of my positive
My high school career has been marked by my leadership skills; I am student body co-president, on an advisory committee for the superintendent, and member of sports medicine. Starting my freshman year, I knew that I wanted more out of high school than a diploma. I wanted to be able to make a difference in the world and I feel that to do so, it is instrumental to possess the qualities of a strong leader. I wanted to learn how to effectively compromise, understand people who view the world though a different lens than I do, and bring out the best in my peers. I have always been driven, persistent, and task-oriented, and subsequently, the administrative aspects of the leadership positions came very naturally to me. However, the relational aspect did not and I learned to harmonize the value of relationships and responsibilities. Through these 4 years, I have developed strong communication skills, learned to be compassionate towards people that I don’t agree with, and the gravity of acting
I learned how to be a leader through my experiences in the softball community. A couple years back I tried out for a big local organization called the Bandits. It was suppose to be the best team around with high caliber athletes. And that’s just what we
Being a leader is being a role model and striving to make a positive impact on those around you. In order to be a successful leader, you have to put yourself second and your peers first. For example, my younger sister and I both play softball. I have played on several travel teams during the summer and this year, she tried out for her first competitive travel team. I was asked to aid her by helping her with the mechanics of the game. During this time, I sacrificed my time to put the needs of another person before my own and it paid off, because she made the team and I got to witness the results of my
Since my freshman year up to my final year of high school, I have always been involved in some shape or form of a leadership position. This includes becoming a band section leader, class officer, or even a leader in athletics. Despite being involved in so many extracurricular activities, I dedicate my time and service to any organization I participate in. These invaluable qualities and experience will aid me in achieving
The leadership roles I have acquired demonstrate that I can manage and work well with others.I have portrayed these characteristics through being a crew leader at my church’s Vacation Bible School. I lead several children in games, crafts, and songs throughout an entire week. I have furthermore taught children at a dance studio that I have personally danced at for twelve years. I lead two duets by teaching the kids new choreography every week and how to dance with proper technique. Though my leadership roles are limited, I have shown excellence in both by leading and working well with
From high school, I had a chance to work my leadership ability as joined a mission club in my high school. Since I was not talented and active person, I just did my best whatever I could as a member of the community. Thankfully, the leaders who I met in my community motivated me, and were with me, and helped me to demonstrate my leadership. Through this process, I had lots of chance to be in leadership position. I also try to be a leader like whom I met as helping and motivating members.
My personal experiences of leadership started when I was younger, roughly 7 years old, I was elected the captain of my travel soccer team. At the time I didn’t think much of it, nor did I have any extra duties that I was explicitly told that I needed to perform. Later throughout the season, I started to notice my teammates mimicking my styles and techniques and I highly enjoyed this feeling of being looked up to. I didn 't realize until years after that the recognition and pride I felt was leadership. This privilege of being captain was the first time I had realized that people weren 't necessarily following my actions because I was extraordinarily skilled, but because I provided this role model status with my confidence and encouragement. Some of the most valuable leaderships traits that I acquired and fortified are:
