The “Sunny Randall” series follows main character Sunny Randall, who is a female detective. She was created by Parker so that Helen Hunt would play her in a movie, but it never happened. He kept the series going because his publisher asked him to. Both Randall and Spenser (another Boston detective that was created by Parker) have things in common, but also things that make them unique. There are six novels to the series.
Sunny Randall is a private investigator in the city of Boston, and used to be a cop. She has a bull terrier named Rosie, is a college graduate, and she would like to be a painter. Randall also has an ex-husband who is named Richie and Richie is from a mob family. Her father, Phil Randall, was also a cop, and he calls on Sunny to help investigate a case later on in the series (“Spare Change”, the sixth novel in the series).
Sunny also appears in Parker 's “Jesse Stone” series of novels and Jesse in turn appears in some of the Sunny books. This is a result of the two dating for a little while before they both realize that their relationship just is not going to work. It is also a result of Sunny appearing in “Split Image”, a Jesse Stone novel where she had a case of her own and carried a good portion of the novel all on her own.
“Family Honor” is the first novel of the “Sunny Randall” series written by Robert B. Parker and was released in the year 1999. When Sunny Randall takes a case from a wealthy family so that she can find their lost teenage daughter,

Disney has faced a large amount of criticism from critics over the tropes and stereotypes that it portrays in its animated films. This is not a recent event however. One of Disney’s most notorious and controversial films, Song of The South, was released in 1946. Song of the South, set during the Reconstruction Era, focuses on a young boy named Johnny who learns that his parents will being living apart for an unknown amount of time, moves to a plantation in Georgia, while his father continues to live in Atlanta. Depressed and confused over the recent events Johnny decides to run away to Atlanta, but is drawn to the voices of Uncle Remus, an ex-slave living on the plantation, telling stories of Br’er Rabbit. Although it is implied that the African American workers are no longer Johnny’s family property, the black characters are still wholly subservient and are happy to be so. James Baskett plays Uncle Remus as a blissfully, happy companion ready to please. Due to this “magical negro” trope, the characters’ ridiculously stereotypical voices, and the unrealistic happy and joyful relationship between the white landowners and their black help, Song of The South, is one of Disney’s most offensive, racist, and fictitious film. Disney’s portrayal of Uncle Remus is his veiled justification of the mistreatment that minorities received before and after the Reconstruction Era.
The Defiant Ones (1958) directed by Stanley Kramer showed the racial relations going on in the United States of America. The film features two men, one black and one white becoming friends, which was almost unheard of at the time. Although when this film came out segregation was illegal it still was not fully accepted as being the new norm. This film starts to try to shape America into accepting all races and stopping segregation, but also tries to mirror society when a third party is brought in and tries to come between the two men and their friendship. Kramer uses The Defiant Ones as a way to mirror the public of the times opinion and shape there new opinion of the changing world.
Every family functions in their own unique way, even if they attempt to model themselves after the social norms of what a family “should be”. Little Miss Sunshine gives insight into how individuals with their own variety of dysfunction manage to function within the family. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Little Miss Sunshine in the context of four different ways of communicating as explained in the textbook, Family Communication: Cohesion and Change. The following paragraphs, organized into sections by theme will explore the Hoover family’s system, the degree of adaptability and cohesion within the family, the productive or destructive ways they manage conflict, and their use of power or decision making processes. Each section will contain a brief review of each of the aforementioned topics that apply, concepts that exist within those topics that appeared in the movie, and examples taken from the movie.
The movie trainspotting showed multiple forms of drug use throughout its duration. This included cigarette use, alcohol use, as well as some amphetamine use. However, the substance of choice throughout the movie was heroine in which the majority of the main characters were addicted to. One of the most important themes of the movie was the main characters struggle with relapsing. In the movie Renton, the main character, relapses twice; with the first relapse being the worst one. Gorskis relapse process on pages 88-90 demonstrate the series of thought processes that occur from the moment Renton gets off heroin to the moment he relapses. It can be seen that various internal struggles lead to the reuse of the drug. He hits a bottom during this time period and begins committing petty crimes in order to fund his drug habits (pg. 4). This series of events was triggered by a tragedy that Renton and his buddies witnessed, which was the death of dawn a, for lack of a better word, crack baby. As stated by the literature, trigger events can often be evoked by feelings (pg. 97-98). Although the death of the baby was not the trigger event that led to the relapse it fueled the use of heroin to cope with his internal struggles (pgs. 97-98). His second relapse was not as devastating as the first. At this point in the movie Renton was being pressured to test some heroin to see if they could sell it. The scene looked rather degrading to Renton as he sat on the floor injecting him self while
Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry found the perfect, fragmented form to simulate memories in the non-linear storyline of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). The thematic elements of the film helps this simplistic story of love found, lost, and found again develop into a complex pattern, much like the workings of the brain. Each character is everything you would expect them to be in real life – down to earth, imperfect, and hopelessly searching for the love someone can only dream of. We can relate to them because we all long for more than we are, and want the best of us to be shown to someone else. Memories make up who we are, they define us. Life teaches us lessons which shape our memories, and in turn, we learn from them. What if those memories were gone? Are we still destined to be the same person? The protagonist of the movie is Joel, and the story surrounds his relationship with Clementine. The antagonist can be seen as Patrick, who tries to destroy their relationship, or Lacuna Inc., whose purpose is to make them forget their relationship. Charlie Kaufman has created a beautiful story that incorporates so many valuable forms in cinema, and leaves viewers on the edge of their seat until the very end. My goal is the show the class concepts of this narrative, as well as demonstrate how the way the film’s story is told
I learned a lot from it I think the movie is helpful. I personally did not know

Dick Tracy, played by Warren Beatty, makes the streets of his city that are agonizing civilians due to Big Boy Caprice, played by Al Pacino, and his cold-hearted gang who always manage to get away with disobeying the law a safer place. Tracys goal is to put the infamous villain behind bars for his gambling clubs, murders, and kidnappings. Caprice takes out his competition Lips Manlis, played by Paul Sorvino, and takes over his territory, which leaves Tracy with more to worry about such as an expansion of thugs, corrupt politicians, bribery, framing, seductress Breathless Mahoney, played by Madonna, the patient Tess Trueheart, Glenne Headly, and an intelligent orphan kid, Charlie Korsmo, to keep in order. Watching this adventure film directed by Warren Beatty, is like seeing a graphic novel come to life. In Dick Tracy, the physical appearance of the characters, such as the candy colored costumes and outstanding makeup effects is a spitting image of

Korean TV dramas also illustrate the distortion of the Confucius virtue, filial piety, surrounding the life of students in dramas such as Sassy Go Go (Balchikhage Gogo, 2015) and Who Are You: School 2015 (Hooayoo- Hakgyo 2015). In Sassy Go Go we are introduced to Kwon Soo-ah, a high school student whose mother’s ambition is to ensure that she will be accepted into Harvard University, an Ivy League school in America. The first episode demonstrates a scene were Kwon Soo-ah meets her mother at school but she doesn’t ask about anything other than her studies. She’s angry that Kwon Soo-ah ranked second in the class, and makes it clear that kind of failure won’t be tolerated again. This type of behavior is routine throughout the drama where Kwon Soo-ah continues to place in second, obtaining the first rank once through malicious acts but then has it taken away and is demerited once her acts are revealed. Clearly, this illustrates how the pressure that the parents place upon the child can cause dire consequences to the child’s state of mind. As the audience follows Kwon Soo Ah the series we see how there are instances where she wants to stop competing with others and simply befriend them or ask forgiveness for her extreme actions. However, her mother hinders her from doing what she deems to be morally correct.
