Chromebook essay The school board has been talking about getting rid of chromebooks.I think they are beneficial to all the students in Chester. We should keep them because they allow us to work more efficiently. It makes homework a lot easier. It causes less clutter in our binders. They also make it a lot easier to carry important documents. It allows us to review with the class before our tests. It can do Kahoot and other fun class games. We use it for our tests. They can also be used for homework. It is better for the environment. We don't have to waste as many trees as we do for paper. The production of paper would stop and we wouldn't need to kill trees. It also doesn’t put smoke in the air. These are all reasons we should keep
We've all heard about electronics in schools, whether you are a parent who has been called repeatedly about your kid being glued to it in class or one of said students, it has been present. The Chromebook has been regarded as a way to revolutionize learning, but it also has a slew of consequences. So we are left with the everlasting question of whether or not it is a viable method of learning.
What were educators thinking when they decided to enforce Chromebooks into the school’s education system? They were thinking about the connection between student and teacher, but they forgot to mention other important details. If Chromebooks are introduced into the school’s system, it would end up being a lot more complicated and a hassle than most would think. Chromebooks should not be introduced to the school’s system due to poor policy in privacy, due to WiFi connectivity problems, and due to conflicts in affordability.
Chromebooks are a new technology that have been implemented into Green High Schools education system. Are they better for the students or the teachers? Do they truly help the education system? Have they made it easier for students to cheat? Have they created lazy teachers? Should teachers be able to change due dates change overnight? There are simply so many questions about the Chromebooks. Faculty seem to love them and on the other hand many students seem to hate them. As a student I have grown to hate these miniature trash bins for many reasons. When the wifi goes out absolutely nothing can be done. The pieces of technology are prone to break quite easily. Furthermore it has created a crutch for many faculty at Green High School. Chromebooks truly have created a hassle for our young adults at GHS.
It’s the end of school and you know what that means. It means the school board is going to have sixth through eighth graders white down if we should or shouldn’t have chrome books and why. I think that all Chesterfield schools should continue to have chromebooks. We should have chromebooks because they’re helpful, there is important homework sites and I personally work faster when I type instead of write.
Paper recycling, on the other hand has been around for much longer. Pulp and paper plants in Canada have been using recycled material for more than 60 years (Bourdages, 1993, para. 4). One of the most obvious environmental benefits of using recycled paper materials, is that it will help to reduce the amount of trees being cut down for production of new paper. Overall, it is evident that there is an established recycling effort in Canada, featuring both positive and negative aspects.
Currently, schools are switching to technology for all of their assigned work, rather than using paper and pen. As a student attending Fountain Lake Charter School Mark Burfeind experiences this everyday. Mark says, Fountain Lake Charter School are giving Chromebooks to the high school and middle school students, and you have no choice to deny the computer. Students are given the Chromebook so they can do homework and there should be no excuse for not having your homework done. Through the Chromebook you are to turn in all work. For the younger students, such as elementary students, they are given in class iPads and with these they can do learning drills and play learning games. Schools everywhere are dropping paper and switching to technology. Should kids now a days be forced to use technology? Yes, because with technology you are provided with effective ways of learning, it prepares you for college, and the real world.
The more students that learn about these issues the more chance they will think everyday before they throw away paper or other recyclable materials.Planting trees has multiple benefits such as creating an ecosystem to provide habitat and food for birds and other animals. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and potentially harmful gasses, such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, from the air and release oxygen. One large tree can supply a day's supply of oxygen for four people.(Evans) All together this will make the community a more beautiful and create a healthier environment.
As has been noted, the Chromebooks at Sherwood Middle School were a big problem. Kids had to be careful with them, couldn’t do anything inappropriate with them, and couldn't change their backgrounds. The school had gotten most of the problems fixed. The chromebooks were a big change for the students and
They can have the kids do research projects on the computers. With younger kids like kindergarten and first grade the kids can have iPads and play games on them for Learning and not even realize that they're learning.
Worldwide we are seeing a devastation of our forests due to paper production. Consumption of wood products has risen 64% since 1961. Globally, pulp for paper, has risen from 40% in 1998, to an expected 60% over the next 50 years. The industry expects that demand to double by 2050. The U.S. consumes 200,000,000 tons of wood products annually, increasing by 4% every year. U.S. paper producers consume 1 billion trees each year (735 pounds of paper for every American). U.S. at 5% of world population consumes 30% of world’s paper. Only 5% of virgin forests remain in the U.S.
At the time being, hemp saves forests. Instead of cutting and using trees to make paper and wood for building houses, hemp can be transformed into top-quality pulp and is more efficient than timber (Hightower, 4).
Do you think chromebooks should be taken away from kids. Kids will want to learn more when they have chromebooks. If teachers get students to write a report most kids will want to type it. So in my opinion kids should keep chromebooks.
cheap compared to other computers at only $200! As a student, this would really help
The benefit of recycling on the environment is endless even if you are just recycling paper products it can be beneficial. According to a website on recycling paper and other products recycling a single run of the Sunday “New York Times” would save seventy five thousand trees. The amount of wasted land that is left behind by those seventy thousand trees. could have been a strong environment that was destroyed just for a single run of the “New York Times”. According to the same source recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator. This energy used to burn the plastic is payed by the American people’s tax dollar that money could be saved by you just by simpling recycling. In the same source it says that approximately one billion trees worth of paper are thrown away every year in the United States this paper thrown away is sent to these giant landfills and cost millions of dollars to dispose of as where if it was recycled we could save money by not having to pay for the paper sent to landfill and save money by not having to have it burned down or stored. The average American uses eighty five million tons of paper a year; about six hundred and eighty pounds per person according to the source earlier
