Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was born on August 13, 1926 in Cuba, Oriente Province.
He was the third of six children, including his two brothers Raúl and Ramón.
His father Ángel was a wealthy sugar plantation owner who did most of his business with the American- owned fruit company. Which dominated the agriculture in the region at the time.
While his mother, Lina Ruz González worked as a maid for Ángels first wife.
Educated in private boarding schools, Castro grew up in wealthy circumstances amid the poverty of Cuba.
Castro always showed that he was gifted however he was much of a trouble maker and displayed that he was more into sports than studies. (Like most Cubans)
He attended Colegio Dolores in Santiago de Cuba and then El Colegio de Belén in Havana. Where he pitched for the schools’ baseball team as well as basketball and track. …show more content…
