Use the Venn diagrams you drew in Exercises 1-3 to decide if the statement is true or false. Explain your reasoning.

Given:

If a number is neither a multiple of 3 nor a multiple of 4, then it is odd.

Concept used:

• A Venn diagram uses shapes to show how sets are related.

Calculation:

Venn diagram shows multiple of 3 and 4.

  

In Venn diagram A shows- multiple of 3.

In Venn diagram B shows- multiple of 4.

In Venn diagram 1,2,5,7,10,11,13,14,17,19,22,23 are neither a multiple of 3 nor a multiple of 4 and it includes both odd number as well as even number.

So if a number is neither a multiple of 3 nor a multiple of 4, then it is odd , this is false.
