To simplify the expression $y^2\left(2y^2+3y-4\right)$ and write the answer in standard form.

  $2y^4+3y^3-4y^2$

Calculation:

In order to simplify the given expression, first use the distributive property to expand the expression and then simplify further by combining the like terms as shown below

  $\begin{array}{c}{y}^2\left(2y^2+3y-4\right)=y^2\cdot 2y^2+y^2\cdot 3y-y^2\cdot 4\\ =2y^4+3y^3-4y^2\end{array}$

Thus, the expression is $2y^4+3y^3-4y^2$ .

Now, to write the polynomial in standard form first write the degree of each term and then write the term with higher exponents to lowest exponents and then the constant term as shown below:

The degree of the term $2y^4=4$

The degree of the term $3y^3=3$

The degree of the term $4y^2=2$
