Interpretation:

The cooling curve for pure metal needs to be drawn by labelling different regions.

Concept introduction:

There are two types of cooling curves

1. Curve for metal having inoculation.
2. Curve for metal having no inoculation.

Inoculation is the process of controlling the properties and structure of the metal by introducing nuclei into the molten metal during the solidification of the metal.

In the cooling curve, the x-axis shows time as an independent variable and y-axis shows temperature as a dependent variable.
