During gamete formation, each pair of alleles of one gene segregates into gametes independently of the pair of alleles of other gene. This is based on law of independent assortment of genes. These two genes separate and enter two different gametes independent of the other. After the genetic cross, the allele combinations are predicted which determine the possible genotypes of the offspring.
