Concept explainers
Explain the reason why Random, Normal and Independent conditions are important to construct a confidence interval.
Answer to Problem 19E
The condition of Random, Normal and Independent are important to construct a confidence interval.
Explanation of Solution
There are three important conditions that should follow toconstructconfidence interval. These are Random, Normal and Independent.
Any survey is conducted without bias.To ensure that random is necessary. A random sample gives the equal opportunity of being chosen independently. Similarly toconstruct the confidence interval, normal is use to ensure what phenomena is used or it will rectify the method when needed. Similarly, independent is also important because it holds the data for analyze. Independent is use for the computation of the standard deviation.
Hence, Random, Normal and Independent conditions are important to construct a confidence interval.
