Chapter 8, Problem 3A
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

In case of cyclic photophosphorylation, only PSI participates and only ATP molecules are synthesized. In this the electrons flow in a cyclic manner from the PSI reaction centre back to it. This happens when the wavelength of the light is higher than normal. However when the conditions are normal again, non-cyclic photophosphorylation happens to generate both ATP and NADPH by passing the electrons from PSII to PSI.
