The palate is the part that makes the roof of the mouth. It consists of the hard palate and soft palate. The hard palate consists of the bony part of the mouth. There are 14 bones that make the face of the individual-paired zygomatic bones, lacrimal bones, nasal bones, inferior nasal conchae, palatine bones, and maxillae, and the unpaired vomer and mandible.
