Summary Introduction
To determine: The dangers in interpreting the results of the Ecotron experiment.
Introduction: The variety of life on earth is defined as biodiversity. The biodiversity includes various species of both fauna and flora in a particular habitat. The biodiversity of any particular area is directly linked to the productivity of the ecosystem. Different productivity hypothesis explains the relation of species richness with the biomass such as; diversity-stability hypothesis, keystone hypothesis, redundancy hypothesis, idiosyncratic hypothesis, and rivet hypothesis. Ecotron experiment is one such experiment that analyzes the relationship between ecosystem function and species richness.
