Introduction:

The oxygen transport study gives us information about the total oxygen delivery (Do2), oxygen consumption (Vo2), and the oxygen extraction ratio (O2ER). Total oxygen delivery is known as the amount of oxygen that can be transported to the peripheral tissues and oxygen consumption is defined as the amount of oxygen extracted from the peripheral tissues.
