Introduction:
Epithelial tissue can be divided into various categories based on the shape of the cells and the number of layers that are present in the tissue. On the basis of the cell shape, the epithelial tissue can be classified as squamous, cuboidal, and columnar epithelium. The three tissue types perform different functions based on the shape of the constituting cell types.
