Chapter 4, Problem 32CT
Summary Introduction
To review:
On the basis of types and characteristics of cell junctions, explain the peeling off of sunburned skin in sheets.
Introduction:
A cell junction is a structure present in the tissues, which connect to neighboring cells and the extracellular matrix. These junctions mainly allow communication. Cell junctions are of three types, i.e., desmosomes, tight junctions, and gap junctions. Impermeable junctions surround the cells and connect them together into sheets, which are leak proof.
