Concept explainers
To write:
The greatest rate of change in head circumference.
Introduction:
Head circumference starts abnormality from thirty six months. There are many factors that can impede growth and development in infants that includes poor nutrition, infection, disease, emotional distress and endocrine dysfunction.
Explanation of Solution
50% of the percentage represents the average or mean head circumference in infants. The measurement of head circumference is approximately 1 inch greater than the infant's chest and abdominal girth measurements. Head circumference starts abnormality from thirty six months. There are many factors that can impede growth and development in infants that includes poor nutrition, infection, disease, emotional distress and endocrine dysfunction. For the first six months of a baby, its head will measure approximately 2 cm larger than its chest. From age 6 to 24 months, his/her head and chest will match with the same circumference. And, after two years, his/her head will measure smaller in size than his/her chest.
